NFL Regular & Post Season Thread

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I think this is the year that Donovan and Andy validate what they have done together. They aren't too reliant on teh deep ball LTW. They really do a lot very well (Deseany didnt have a big gain play today) and most importantly Brian Westbrook is completely rested for the playoffs and has these two games to get some rhythm.

Chargers vs. Eagles in the Super Bowl is the pick I am gonna go for.

I hope that we get rid of Sheridan and not Osi.
So one game ... When the Cowboys shut them down, we gave them short passes and they struggled. Granted, they didn't have Westbrook (who as you say, is going to be a key player for them IF he's 100% mentally - which going by his interviews the past week, he is slightly concerned about his future) but still. The funny thing is the two 'hottest' teams are the Cowboys and Eagles and I think overall, they're stronger outfits (when on form) than the Saints and Vikings. I wouldn't be surprised at all if your Super Bowl pick comes to fruition though I could see the Steelers (if they make it) or Ravens beat the Chargers.

I hope the Giants lose Osi - in fact, he really hinted at it yesterday which was great.

Oh and what a way for the Giants to close out Giants Staidum. I heard too many Giants fans laughing at the way we closed our stadium (& season) last year but this tops it ...

Wrt Cowboys, there are some very worrying signs for me:
1) Barber isn't the player he was 2 years ago and shouldn't be taking more carries than Choice.
2) 3rd/4th and 1 seems to be an issue - Garrett, work it out.
3) Roy Williams has worse hands than TO!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

If Osi goes I am not speaking to you for at least a month cause of that statement. And he'll stay if we axe Sheridan, they had a lot of tension.

Did they use Leonard Weaver against you who is dominant in the short passing game. Or Brent Celek who has really impressed all year. What about the fact that they started to run the ball and thats why the recent 5 game winning streak.

oh and Eagles>Vikings but Favre nullifies this after week 12> Cowboys>Saints (yep I think the Saints had way way to many close losses to be considered elite despite there record)

ha ha - that isn't right. He's going to sign for the Cowboys or Raiduhs. You heard it here first. Sorry, please forgive me.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I can't possibly believe that, and the 6 months will really be a starting point if he goes to the cowboys. That until your first loss after the signing. So what like 2-3 years?

Woot, got a playoff spot 🙂

Also, Colts.....WTF? The fucking jets? Fo shame.

Eagles?

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

eagles have clinced a playoff spot - as have cowboys.

Winner on Sunday @ 19:15pm UK time between 'Boys and Eagles wins NFC East. Depending on Vikings next two games (bears & Gaints), the winner could also get first round bye.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

D - remember you were complaining about the Dallas D not forcing enough TOs? As of now, we're leading the NFC with 16.7 points allowed per game. That's all that's really important. Let's be honest - if they keep that up in the playoffs, we have a brilliant chance to break our 13 year duck!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Absolutely, mate.

If they keep this up, they're as good a team as anybody. Next week, I fancy them to beat the Iggles again, and be the 3rd seed when all is said and done.

Ironically, I think my boys might be peaking starting to worry a few teams in the AFC right now, too.

It'll be a very interesting post-season. I wonder if the football gods will punish Indy for throwing away their chance at perfection so distainfully... It would be a wonderful justice, no?

I think, funnily enough, it will be the Pats or Steelers (if they make it) who will make the Super Bowl from the AFC just because they do match up well (for different reasons) against the Colts & Chargers. I am not in the anti 19-0 camp move that the Colts pulled off - though I think they'll regret it. A loss is a loss.

I'm not sure the Cowboys win on Sunday afternoon but I do really really hope our team wins A playoff game this year. Something tells me Wade just may be onto something and the players play for him. Romo has also grown up phenomenally this year -

Last point: the Lions pulled off a master trade with Roy Williams. He has such average hands and the team is bloody lucky Austin was ready to be a star.

You're gonna get beat by the Eagles. Its our division...

So it starts in less than a week now... what's gonna happen?

I'll be boring and say the Patriots to win it all, after beating the Steelers in the AFC Championship (sorry Oncy).

NFC Champs to be the Bears.

Colts to miss the playoffs.

And Lions to go 2-14 (beating the Rams and Browns 😉 )
What whopping predictions these are.

(apart from the last one 🙁 )

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Cowboys against Eagles now for NFC East bragging rights (the division).

Pittsburgh barely beats Miami, who played their 2nd half with their 2nd and 3rd string QBs ... It seems Baltimore will handle Oakland and ensure they stay away from the playoffs ...

The Giants gave up 40+ points AGAIN! Hopefully Mr. Sheridan returns!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

The Lions at least kept one of their records this year. By losing to the St. Louis Rams they keep the distinguished title of the only ever 0-16 team 😉

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

14-0 to the 'Boys at 2 minute warning.

I don't care what the result is today, unless we win a playoff game, I don't think we're worth even worrying about ... We're playing great but the playoffs are where it's at and we've proven quite apt and not showing up during all our opportunities the past decade.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

So it seems the Rams will get Ndamukong Suh. The Lions probably Okung or McCoy.

Looks like the Lions have finally drafted correctly and got things the right way round... Okung will be a great pick as he is better than any LT in the draft last year, whereas Stafford is better than any QB in the draft this year.

That said, if Suh is available it's a no brainer.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I am sick and fucking tired of watching the fucking Patriots piss away big fourth quarter leads. Fucking ridiculous. Should be at 13 - 3 this evening. Fuck football!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Chris Johnson goes over 2000 yards rushing this season (something that Emmitt Smith never did 😉 )

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I hate the end of the regular season. Getting rocked in my fantasy league with half my starters benched.

Oh, and the Eagles are getting whupped. Whatever. We'll play Dallas again next week when we actually care. I hope.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

I have the NFL Field Pass so I can listen to the radio coverage of any game.

I logged in and they asked if I wanted to extend the deal into the playoffs.

I said no.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Few things......

Cowboys looked very good this week, great momentum heading to the playoffs. I would not want to play them right now, hopefully they keep their heads. Not sure if playing the same team a week later is an advantage or not.

The Texans can actually make the playoffs this year, and have secured their first winning season in franchise history, very good.

I can not begin to tell you all how happy I am to finally see the weak ass over rated Giants get exposed these last few weeks, it really makes me want to dance.

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

This is the 1st time in Cowboys HISTORY they've had back to back shutouts. How impressive is that? This defense is hitting it's peak at the right time ... Not to mention Mr. Romo, who's proven that he's perhaps ready to take his game to the next level. I say 'perhaps' because the postseason is what really counts.

Eagles at Cowboys next week on Saturday ... My heart says we'll beat them again. But my head keeps on saying, "This is the Cowboys Wiz, they'll find a way to blow it on a muffed snap by Romo or a dropped catch by Fasano or Crayton." This is the best Cowboys team, imo, since the last Jimmy Super Bowl. It's balanced, the defense is strong (the only weakpoint is lack of turnovers) and the offense is tough to stop.

ROLL ON THE PLAYOFFS!

Re: NFL Regular Season Thread

Props to Chris Johnson.

I still can't figure how he exploded onto the scene ... I think the Titans will be my 'sleeper' pick next year ...

Agree about Tennessee. They'll be worth watching next season all right.
