Roy has identified that he needs four players (from a very dodgy source). The drill in this thread is very simple. Name the four players you would like to see.

Qualifying condition for nomination: The player has to be relatively unknown. A diamond in the rough.

I'll go first...

LB - Sebastian Boenisch. A big beast of a lad at 6'3, and is part of the German youth development system that has churned in quite a few quality players. He has shown great promise in attack and defense for Werder.
DM - Moussa Sissoko. He is a box to box player who plays the game with great energy. He is a pretty good passer of the ball.
Wing - Lewis Holtby.
Striker - Welliton (Top scorer in the Russian league for the last two seasons. This Brazilian has scored 50 goals in 75 appearance for Spartak Moscov)

Young, Bent, Mexes, Lass Diarra.. All relatively unknown and 'available' for a hefty fee... 😉 😉 😉 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 8) 8) 8) 8) 😛 😛 😛 😛

Canales. The lad from Tranmere. Krasic. Hamsik.
Is that the fella whose youtube video was posted here?

The really quick dude?

Yeah thats him KJ.

Canales only went to Madrid this season so I doubt we'd ge him.
cf. Krasic at Juve.

Welliton from Spartak.
Josip Ilicic and Javier Pastore from Palermo

And a left back.

Wingers:

Marko Marin - Werder Bremen - aged 21, already capped 9 times for a talented German National team. 2 footed, versatile, direct, final ball improving all the time.

Eden Hazard - Needs no introduction on here.

Afellay - Barca have picked up for 3M fucking Euros... Unbelievable value for money. This kid is class - although he may stifle at Barca. We should make a move in 24 months.

Douglas Costa - Shakhtar Donetsk - Capped 15 times for Brazilian under 21's. Probably not ready for another move yet as he hasn't proven himself in Ukraine yet, but he's one to keep an eye on.

--------------------

Strikers:

Lavezzi - Napoli - works hard, talented, great passer, strong. Not as prolific as I would like, but his talent creativity and work rate could help unleash Torres once more.

Darren Bent - Sunderland - guarantees goals.

Llorente - Bilbao - Class act

Lukaku - Anderlecht - He'll be a £25M+ player plus one day. He seems to have everything already. Great investment.

That list is spot on Squiggles. Would be very pleased would any of the players mentioned. Marin is a realistic target too. Muller and Ozil have developed a bit quicker than him but Marin does look to be a classy player. He is diminutive in stature but is very very talented.

Yeah, I would have included Muller before the last world cup, but now I think we would face a load of competition for him. Although for someone still so young and talented, I wouldn't care about over-spending. Bayern are building a very talented squad, and it's quite nice to see them back up amongst the elite.

Haha. I love Oncey's 'tips'

I might put money on some of them actually *dying* within the next 5 years
I tipped Ozil, Chivu, Bale, Arshavin, Iniesta and plenty of other up and comers long before you had even heard of them Bren.
I get some wrong too of course. Its hard to tell with much certainty when a kid is 17 how he will turn out.

Oncy also said Mancini (the Roma Winger) was World Class, which destroyed any credibility he had.

The suggestion that he rated the above names before anyone else is equally as absurd

Left back
Fabio Coentrao - Quality attacking full back, had a lot of hype after the world cup which seems to have died down now so price may not be as high. Still young so future would be sorted.
or Diego Contento - A possible cheaper alternative to Coentrao, I've seen him play a few times now and been very impressed each time.

Winger
Eden Hazard - Obvious choice but he really does look good, whether or not we pay the huge transfer fee is another thing
or Marco Reus - A star of the future in my opinion, been about the only good thing about Borussia's M season so far.

Midfielder
Javi Martinez - Another obvious choice. Plays well every time I see him. Great engine but with a touch of class also. Will be pricey though.
Yann M'vila - haven't seen that much of him to be honest, but a lot of people seem to rate him highly.

Strikers
Luis Suarez - If this guy is available in Jan, we should be all over it. I really rate him, he's creates and scores and would do well with Torres.

Kevin Doyle
Joey Barton
Leighton Baines
Matthew Taylor

That's about as good as it's gonna get.

And if we're lucky we'll get Titus Bramble to sure up the defense.

Nothing wrong with Baines. He is probably the best left back in the league after Evra and Cole.

No offence but we should be looking for players who are better or just as good as Evra and Cole.
Coentrao is an option.

Shopping during the January tranfer window won't fix anything. We need a complete overhaul.
We're back in 2003-2004 when Gerrard was carrying the team. Face it he's too old and too injury prone to do that again. Torres is shooting blanks currently and the rest except Meireles, Reina and to a lesser extent Johnson are below par.

Four players is not enough.

We need a new LB, two new CB, a CM, a RM, a LM and a decent back up striker.

We need Coentrao, Shawcross, Gary Cahill, Martinez, Lavezzi, Hazard and Llorente.

I want adam johnson like realllyyyy badly.
overrated

WINGER:

We need pace on the wing and someone who can beat a man, keep pressure on the opposing fullback, whip a ball in etc. I'd be very happy with any of...

Mata, Young, Marin, Alex Sanchez, Adam Johnson or Eden Hazard.

STRIKER:

Squad would probably would be better off with a target man but id be happy with anyone who can score actual goals...

Dzeko, Bent, Carroll, Lavezzi, Adebayour, Llorente, Lukaku (once hes finished school!).

MIDFIELDER:

We should proabably add a bit of steel, but id be happy with any good players right now...

Diarra, Nolan, Defour, Bangea, M'Vila, Hamsik.

DEFENDER:

Utter, utter shambles, really need to find Sami Mk II for the back. Who that is i dont know... And a LB...Johnson is off so maybe a RB too. Its a mess! 4 players? Need more like 7-8.

Ideally id sign Bastian Schweinsteiger and play him CM with Gerrard and Meireles. That would be a formidable trio! Hazard terrorising the wings....Torres banging them in...That would be great.

Srdjan Lakic -Striker - Kaiserslautern
Or
Suarez
Shinji Kagawa - AM but has sifted out to the left for can use either foot.. - Dortmund
Or
Lewis Holtby - AM can also play left wing. - Mainz

M'Vila
Or
Defour

Cissokho as our left back.
Doubt Lyon would want to sell though.

We need a LB, a CB and a CM as priorities. We're fucked otherwise
I'd have a striker ahead of a CB.

This season is fucked anyway. We are only looking to cover the short term loss of Carra. But i would rather see more of Kelly and Wilson etc to see what they are capable and make the decision on the CB in the summer.

Welliton from Spartak.
Josip Ilicic and Javier Pastore from Palermo

And a left back.
This plus Aly Cissokho for left back.

I'd also be okay with Defour, Hazard or *ahem* Bastos (not really unknown).
