Nah, sometimes it helps to actually see the player himself rather than his nationality (not Italian btw) or league.
The last player we bought from Serie A was Coutinho. Not only that, our previous Brazilian purchases were Aurelio and Lucas.

Marchisio (cheers mate) is a completely different breed of footballer than Aquilani.
I would not worry for one second that he'd fit right in. I am ever so impressed with him especially when I've seen him play for Juve. Grit, steel, thundershot, tackling, deep runs, goals, immense work rate, skills, technique etc. Could be a very good replacement for Gerrard, but obviously nothing but a wet CM fantasy.
