Its not that the header went to an opposition player, that happens all the time its the fact that he just cushioned it into the guys path that makes it bizarre. As for holding onto the ball for 20+ seconds, there is a point where the crowd starts screaming at him to get rid. Instead he just stands there like a rabbit in the headlights, perplexed by having to kick the ball out. His decision making, or lack of, is comically bad.

Reminds me of the time he let the ball roll out for a corner cos he couldn't decide where to kick it.

That's worrying. Klopp's loyalty to players is usually considered a good thing, but unswerving loyalty is not. And Mignolet is not good enough, and should have been replaced two seasons ago. For the same reasons he needs replacing now.

Translation:
"It's got nothing to do with any of you in the media, and I'm not going to slag off my number one keeper while he's still useful. Next season we'll have a much better keeper."

OK, well I never got to watch Bolton play as often as you, but the impression I always got was that he's very similar to Mignolet: a decent shot-stopper who makes too many mistakes and isn't good enough to play for Liverpool.
 
I really like the fact he begins with the attitude that, if a player seems bright enough to listen and learn, he'll try to improve him rather than just keep swapping players until one turns out to be good. The only problem with the keepers is they have Nice But Dim John Achterberg coaching them. So hopefully he'll bring in a better keeping coach.

Behave yourself Sean. He broke into the Bolton team halfway through the season they were relegated, he probably played about 15 top flight matches for a team that got relegated. Youve probably seen him play about twice ya chancer.
 
Apparently we're signing a new Belgian hotshot in Jan but he's just 19 or something and he'll be loaned back out. Can't remember the name
 
There is this goalkeeper breaking all sorts of record in Serie A. Maybe we can target him in January.


Pepe Reina was beaten by Adem Ljajic, but the Napoli goalkeeper has the longest clean sheet record in Europe.

In this evening’s 2-1 win over Inter, Reina conceded a goal after 534 minutes of Serie A football.

During the game he was able to beat the previous record for this season of 500 minutes by Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.

Napoli had kept seven consecutive clean sheets between Serie A and the Europa League.

That's very impressive
 
Ming is certainly not "shit." He leads all PL goalkeepers in clean sheets in 2015. Last season he has been voted our 3rd best player by fans, only behind Phil and Raheem. It's a bit strange how the same set of fans can rate a player so highly based on game-by-game performance and so low in overall judgement. Maybe it's his fat punchable face and not the most assured body language that contributes to this less than charitable impression? Kind of like Sakho with his "awkward" posture.

Like I said earlier in another thread, his only consistent weakness is distribution. Sometimes when this weakness is repeatedly exposed it can affect his overall confidence, but lately I think he learned to deal with this better. He also looks like the type who is likely to improve with age and experience. Let's give him a chance until the end of the season and see how he progresses "under the new management." Klopp has a point; we are too quick to give up on players.

Mignolet is in his third season at Liverpool and has played in the Premiership for 5 years. How much time does he require?
 
We've all seen him win us points with his fantastic reflex saves. We've all seen his occasional indecisiveness when he has got hold of the ball. Which takes precedence in our evaluation of him as a keeper? It really isn't that simple.
