have you seen the table. Despite Messi coming, and winning every game since he arrived, they still are second last in the standings. They were really bad.
23 points from 21 games.
14th out of 15 teams

9 points off the playoff spots. They could make the playoffs, and then anything can happen

In fairness, I'm fairly sure that only this recent match was a league match... I'm fairly certain that all of the other matches were in a month-long, mid-season, start-to-finish knockout cup competition.

You're right mate. 8 of the last 9 games have been the "leagues cup", this week was just the first MLS game -

My eldest is in college in Georgetown and I'll be down to visit her in a few weeks - If I'm there for a match, I'll drop you a line, if you'd fancy meeting up for a jar.

That’s right you mentioned it before. I’m about a hour south GT. Sounds good. Let me know

I’m a pretty fierce defender of Murica but we have absolutely no idea how to make/sing anything catchy at players. mostly we don’t even try, just do variations of the U-S-A chant.

College sports are the only supporter culture worth even seeing. Even that pales in comparison. It's a fucking embarrassment. The thing is, the mls fans ape the footballing culture they consume, and they still can't even do a bad knock off. It's the main reason I don't ever wish for any footballing success in the USA.

Hockey was pretty good back in the day ... 90s basketball crowds were awesome too.

Even the best atmospheres here - college football and hockey are two very good examples - don't do things like we do... There's no singing, very little chanting, and the stop-start nature of all the sports over here makes it hard to keep a good vibe going. Even when a place is bouncing, a timeout or a penalty / flag can always let the air out of a place.

It's also ruined by shitty djs playing music insanely loud. I won't go to big sporting events here for that reason. It's like cakes here. The cake is irrelevant, it's all just frosting.

I used to enjoy the odd NBA game, especially when the Celtics were in town... But, fuck me, the noise is never-ending now, from an hour before the game until an hour afterwards. And every single thing is turned up to 11 - They even have the nets mic'ed up, so the 'swish' is ear-shattering. Haven't been in years for that reason. It's incessant and it's infuriating. Ruins the game.

I go to Austin FC games and it's a great atmosphere, but it's a little overdone and manufactured by the club. Like even when the concede a goal, the drums are still going - like there's no disappointment (the ultras). Let the crowd go quiet for a few mins. No harm.

Try college hockey in Michigan. Not too far off a passionate lower league crowd of 3-5,000.

It also is causing irreparable damage to everyones hearing.
