In terms of who I want on the ball when we need a goal I haven’t wanted a player to have possession more than Mane since Gerrard left.

He really has become our best player and if (it’s a huge if) we land the title this season is have him up there with the very best.

At this rate he’s on track to be my favourite player ever, from his off the field behaviours and comments to the fact he’s never injured and always always wants the ball.

Even again today when he wasn’t having the best game he still looked for it and refused to hide and never complained or showed poor body language (like some others).

Then bang left foot cross goal, then sticks his head in the danger zone, boom 2-1.

I love him more than Torres in his pomp.

Yeah, Mane and Sterling are the best players in the league right now.

None of our players hide though. You can’t get the results we are getting if any of them did.

He is a proper hard nut fighter.

I still think Sterling is slightly below the very, very best, despite all the media fawning. He scores all his goals agajnst the shite, and doesn't really do it in big games. Cue him having a stormer against us now.

But I think the likes of Mane, Van Dijk, De Bruyne, Aguero, Kane (maybe not this season) are better players.

I know what you mean the tenacity and confidence is Gerrard like, even helps out in defence with crucial tackles, he's everywhere!

Not sure about that. He would have scored the last min winner against spurs if not for Var last season and he scored against us this year. He’s starting to bang them in against the big teams and is their main threat.

I don't really count the Charity Shield. And that goal against Spurs didn't count so...

He's obviously a great player. But he's not as creative, nor does he have the technique or vision of De Bruyne, and he isn't as good a finisher as Aguero. Those two in that team alone are better than him.

I'd rather have Mane. I'd probably take Salah over him based on their all round games, though Salah hasn't really turned it on yet this season. I understand that people would debate my choice there.

I just don't think he's in the truly top bracket of player.

I would have agreed 18 months ago but last season and this year he’s really stepped up. Individual attributes sure those players have better qualities but as an overall package there is surely no debate that he’s their main man.

100% wouldn’t take him over Mane, Salah is a closer call but I’d still take Salah.
