Lucas Leiva today

Since the hapless brainless talentless cunt has been out the side we've stuck the most back to back wins together and played the best football in my memory.

Maybe my memory isn't that great. But that's how it seems.

And how well did he play in the first half of the season?
He was playing fine, some good, some not so good, but anything other than top notch and your agenda kicks back in, regardless of the fact that your favourites were playing much worse than him, because you've got to.let everyone know that the only reason he's getting away with it is because he's a good old scouser.

Flanagan is, or was a lowly reserve player with no future. Rodgers in a moment of utter stupidity thought Cissokho was a good signing for left back. What do you propose? We'd be fucked had we seen out the season with him in the team, there would certainly not have been any title challenge.

Any ordinary young player, McLaughlin included, would have completely crumbled, cost us points, and then cost us more points when we were forced to go back to Aly Cissokho. Flanagan isn't the best player, but he dealt with the pressure, doesn't give up, doesn't go hiding, doesn't do stepovers against thin air, and he focuses on doing his job competently. That's a rare attitude and one that virtually guarantee's he's going to get better and better for us. We owe him a debt of gratitude for saving the club from what could have been a disastrous loan signing.

All in all he's done well but what is it that you're trying to tell me?
That he's exempt from criticism?

Fuck Cissokho, I couldn't give a toss if he plays. Playing Flanagan has turned out to be a master stroke by Rodgers.
But in my mind, if he's good enough to play in the first team and start in the first team he should be judged as a first team player. If I see him get done by a player several times during a game, am I not allowed to mention it?
Is it criminal to say that he's had a poor game?
I'd like to think that I give players praise when it's deserved.
He's 21 years old, not a 17 year old who just played in the FA youth cup.

I've read that some want him in the England squad. Is that not hyperbole?
Also, ahead of WHO? Johnson? Walker? Baines? Cole? Shaw?

With all due respect, fuck off.

Flannagan redeemed himself you claimed, redeemed himself for what? Flannel was fine. Your tendency to single out scousers for critism because you think no one else on here will critise them is wrong and tedious.

I don't normally agree with modo but flanagan was extremely poor today, as was johnson. Flanno gets a pass from me for winning the penalty though.

He's had almost no experience in anyone's first team before now. Him and Lucas are the two least talented players in the team. But when the attacking talent wasn't doing anything of note, we won the game because Lucas wasn't afraid to try a pass he isn't good enough to play, and Flanagan gets into the box trying to score a goal he isn't good enough to score. Their attitudes are both excellent. Your praise of one and criticism of the other is irrational. The bolded sentence fits Lucas like a glove too.

Couldn't disagree more.

Change the fucking record then, it's boring. Crying like a baby about people having agendas when you're the most bitter, agenda riddled gobshite on here.
To what? Join your Flanno can't do no wrong wankfest? No thanks.

Who's? Mine? The only time I've really championed him is in response to your anti local players agenda."You're all biased"... do me a favour, go and pick on a Norwegian or something, it's what you usually do when you're not goading scousers

Anti local agenda....really?
Lol. Making stuff up as we go along are we?

One great pass - and a good performance. Exactly what we needed though in the position he was thrown on. Well done Lucas and keep it up.

You probably didn't get more bite in the match thread because of the little digs at Flannel Again, that's by the by though. He was very good today, not sure if it was the system change or him personally which changed the game, but he's at least partly responsible anyway. I quite like him in the more advanced role, he's good with the ball and breaks up the play well, i'd start him there against City personally.
I just need to comment this post again because if you feel that you can't praise Lucas because of me, then there's definitely something wrong with you.

Ummmm, that's what you got from that post? The post which is 90% me praising Lucas? Fuck me Modo.

If I was running the site I think I'd just permaban Modo for shite like this. It doesn't even really annoy me in a narrow context - but it's just so fucking breathtakingly boring and energy sapping. Just deliberate, petty, mood-spoiling bollocks that takes posters away from interesting discussions elsewhere.

In fact, can we have a vote? 75% majority and he gets fucked off.

You mean democracy in action? We could make this like Big brother. Put a forumite up for eviction each week.

LOL why not though? He's been doing this for years - he offends far more people than Brendan ever did so I'm not sure why he *shouldn't* be banned.

Totalitarianism at work it seems.

No place for conflicting opinions. Cause that's basically what it is. I can't help it if it riles you up.

I think too many people are too quick to shout agenda at Modo, and they are those who often get the same taunts thrown at them. e.g. Mystic (Hendo is a legend) and Mark (Johnson is shit etc).
