Dirk is hopefully about to get on one of those 'runs' ... It's key to our season, especially considering the health of our other regular goal scorers

They had periods of pressure, but we contrived (to miss) the best chances, and fully deserved this. A great win with a depleted side.

*APPLAUDS*

Get in there!!

The score line flattered spurs, we should have scored at least another couple of goals.

Great to hear the Anfield crowd getting behind the team and Rafa like they did tonight.

Honestly, that was a shit game but we really needed this win (regardless of performance; great commitment mind). Now we have to build on it and put together a few wins.

Also, props to N'Gog. He was good today and I get the feeling he'll be a player best used from the bench (when we're already winning and just need some legs). Not good enough to start yet, but as Keni says, who knows, with time (and some muscle) he might become a decent player. He has a trick or two about him.

The crowd played a big part there. Stuck with the lads even when they were starting to get nervy. Spurs bottled it.

Woomotherfuckinghoo!

Great win, I was confident before the match which is very much unlike me and was largely without reason.

I can imagine Lucas for the penalty just aimlessly wandering into the area, hands in pockets, unaware of the football match going on around him.

All right - great spirit, good organisation, fantastic result. We're still not really playing much football, but at least we got the basics right tonight. Need to use our boosted confidence to go on a winning run now...

Fuck, eggnog is coming on

Yeah, fuck. I hate him. I mean imagine coming on and WINNING A PENALTY, the cunt.

I was beginning to get seriously worried after all those squandered chances but that was some cool as ice shit from Kuyt there. Two fantastic penalties.

Also, these last 5-10mins have shown why some afford N'Gog a little patience. Wonderful cameo from him today.

He did well when he came on. It's worth noting he had a partner in Kuyt and wasn't being asked to deputize for Torres in a 4-5-1 on this occasion. That's how it should be going forward. And I'd rather see him come on in games we're leading, than start big games where there's heaps of pressure on him.

Yes- I didn't agree with much of the commentary tonight, but Gray was probably right to say that N'Gog has the skillz to be deployed as an impact player at this stage of his career. He certainly gave us momentum as soon as he appeared tonight.

Yeah, I don't really disagree with any of that. He has done okay at times when asked to lead the lines in fairness to him, but it shouldn't really be the default go-to option when Torres is out.

carra's sprint down the flank was awesome got the crowd up on their seats
[/quote]

I agree- also a fantastic cross to create the chance that Kuyt missed from 1 yard.

Kuyt should have had about five today, despite being our best player.

^

I was trying not to think about him missing the peno and Spurs scoring on the contra.

That would've probably ended his career. And my telly.

Can we please have another GET THE FUCK IN thread from MolbysTwin?

Eh? Where did I slag him off? I said he was our best player. And he should have scored five, which is no exaggeration.

Besides, I've been one of Dirk biggest supporters on this site (ably assisted by Ryan), even during his baron spells. I love him.

Oh, and I'm delighted.

*happy dance*
