Other games thread 25-27 Feb

Even if City win it, they can see what it feels like to miss out on the big 2 while winning a domestic cup.

Considering their success it’ll feel extremely hollow.

Having said that it would be nice to effectively have their season ended in early April.

Don't want Bournemouth to win it, they're not a proper club with a rich history. It'd be like when Wigan won it. Obviously don't want City to win it either. Happy for any of the others - I don't think Palace, Fulham or Brighton have ever won a trophy before, so that'd be nice. All decent-sized clubs who've come close before.

How can anyone hate Bournemouth?! 🤣

I’m the opposite, I’d much rather a smaller club win it than one of our rivals.

Well I wouldn't really consider Fulham, Palace, Brighton, Preston etc our rivals exactly, but they're all proper clubs with longish topflight histories and/or sizable fanbases.

Exactly, but I honestly prefer Villa to win it. I wouldn't mind the others except Man C obviously, but I just want Emery to win it so he can rub that cup in Gooner fans faces.
That combined with us winning the league?
I'll be licking virtual tears on AFTV for a month at least.

Yeah, I wouldn't begrudge Villa the FA cup.

I'm mostly in the 'anyone but City' camp. I have a really good mate who supports Villa and so I'd love him to feel the joys of winning a trophy, so that gets my vote.

I'd enjoy watching a Fulham V Brighton final. Or Bournemouth.

I'll take anybody but the cheats, of course, but I'd also prefer to not have to listen to that insufferable bellend Gaby Agbonlahore crowing as if the cup means anything anymore, if it can be avoided.

Question, such a random color combo for West Ham, Burnley and Villa. Why so many teams with an odd combo.

Yeah I was wondering that, just looked it up. Basically because the others copied Villa who were the preeminent team around the early part of the century.

Doesn't seem to be much on why Villa chose the colours in the first place, though (which were originally "chocolate and sky blue" btw, which at some point was changed to claret).

Fun fact. Barca have their kit because when they formed they borrowed one from Merchant Taylor’s school in Crosby. A former teacher was part of the setup and had it shipped over.

Yup. It's fascinating because this colour combo exists in no other league in the world.
It's objectively the ugliest combination known to football.

Fascinating, thanks man
