Match Thread Spurs (H) - Coca Cola Cup Semi - Thursday 20:00

We won't win the quad, we always do this, but I think we'll pick up at least two trophies, and that's fucking brilliant. I'll always be sad that city fuck off when we win though, I'd crave nothing more than to beat them by a point at 94 points or some shit. Those CL nights smashing those oil barons cheats will always remain some of my favourite nights supporting this club.
We will win the league by end of April. Gives us a month to focus on FA Cup and Champions League.

Our best performances last season coincided with Bradley's run in the team, and he has also been part of some of our best performances this season. We're not a considerably worse side with Bradley in the team.
I hate arguing for Trent (hence I rarely do), because by association it seems a slight on Bradley. It's not, we are so fortunate to have Bradley coming through in his place, I just truly believe Trent is generational. This season the criticism is fair, but he's earned our faith for this season in my eyes. Moot point anyway as he's clearly off, I just think it's a tragedy how he's wasting his potential to be one of the greatest our clubs ever seen, his trajectory is Gerrard if he could just sort his egotistical head out. Madrid is full of the worse kind of talent in football, I hate that he wants to join that.

I've had to turn it off. Carragher is putting a massive target on our backs

Gakpo best left forward in the league
Bradley best right back in the league
Van Dijk too good for the league.

Fuck off. Just fuck off.

Save the wanks for the end of the season. Or... a podcast.

Not when you are meant to be impartial.

I would add to this.

Liverpool - the best team on the fucking planet.

Oh and change "league" for "world".

& what is it about him that makes him......great?

Gary Neville:
I think Tottenham are going to get a draw. I don’t know how they’re going to get a draw at Anfield, but I feel like it’s going to be an emotional, mad night where something happens. I’ve got a feeling Tottenham could win the Carabao Cup.

Never trust Neville's opinion on games involving us. He's been habitually wrong about us for years. He just can't get past the hate. We could have played Dagenham today and he would've said the same.

Merson is just mad that his prediction about us having a dip is looking more and more unlikely.

Isnt Sky just hedging...

They have different pundits taking completely opposed extreme positions.

Neville v Carragher v Merson. They don't care who's right. After the fact, one of them will just have a massive dig at the other, and fans will get a dopamine overdose. Oldest trick in the playbook.

Yeah probably and I fall for it every time.

Ok?

So you're arguing that we shouldn't criticise our players while also championing buying improvements?

Ok
We should not hyperbole our shortcomings which happens every single time we drop points.
It’s bullshit overcritical talk that frustrates me.

See Salah any time he doesn’t score and or assist in a game. Luckily there has been fuck all chance of that this season but others get undue criticism imo.

I’ve covered the Ange respect previously. He’s won things everywhere he’s gone prior to Spurs and that includes at international level.

Celtic was just another very impressive chapter.

More successful managers have failed at Spurs.

If you think it's hyperbole, fine. I don't. Our 9 didn't score today. Whether that's Diaz, Nunez or Jota; that position doesn't score enough. Our midfield doesn't score enough.

The Salah debate I'm not rehashing. We have different expectations

It's not what I've seen this season, it's the player he is, he hasn't suddenly become shit, he's always been an engima, the difference this season is that instead of defending the negatives, we are starting to turn on him because of the speculation, we've become the England fans we used to love to hate.

He's clearly unsettled by it all, he doesn't have the same mental fortitude of Virgil or Salah, not many do, and then when you add into the mix it's his home club, and the people he's grown up around have started to turn on him, can you be that surprised?

What's still beyond doubt in my mind however, is that he's one of the most talent right backs I've ever seen, even when he's not bombing forward like the old days, he brings a composure, and creativity to the role that we will never replace.

Will the team become more balanced without him? Probably. Will we miss him and lose something distinctly unique and brilliant when he's gone? Absolutely.

Oh poor baby, all he wanted was to screw over his home town club to the tune of god knows how many tens of millions, and all of a sudden his very own fans are turning on him?!

I don't hate Trent or anything but let's have a bit of perspective here. He's not some innocent victim of events beyond his control. If he leaves for nothing it hurts the club, and he's well aware of that, and will have chosen to do it anyway - for money he doesn't even remotely need.

Our team scores more than enough. The overall > the sum of the parts.

Are you complaining about our no9 not scoring in a game we win 4-0 and he wins a penalty?

Ok……..
