Liverpool vs City : pre game

Sergio Aguero is poised to return to City's starting line-up after finishing a four-match ban, while centre-back John Stones is also expected to be fit for a crucial clash at the top.

And Guardiola said: "Sergio is ready. He has come back good from Argentina. Finally he is back after the ban, and we are happy he is back.
"John Stones is much, much better. Vincent Kompany and Leroy Sane, I think they are not available to play."

Not disappointed Stones is starting ! Hopefully Aguero won't be up to speed.

Whilst I can see why the media and a lot of people are backing us to win here, there's always that big voice in the back of your head saying that heartache is never far away with supporting this Club i.e City turning it on and beating us. Can never underestimate a team with such talent running through it.

I just hope we don't freeze. Also there seems to be more and more talk about atmosphere( lack of more to the point) these days but this is an occasion where the crowd will hopefully spur us on and make it an uncomfortable as possible for City. Anfield at its best can still have that affect.

The big difference in that respect now is the guy in your avatar. With Klopp at the helm I find my jitters are a lot less than they used to be. I've always been on the optimistic side anyway but Klopp has made a straight-up believer out of me.

Come on you Red men!

I've said a few times this season that our starts worry me a little.

We start games relatively slowly, taking half an hour or so to really dominate. That's why we've seen teams recently try to go all out for that early period to get a couple of goals before we make them forget what the ball looks like.

The worry against a side like city is that they could get a couple of goals during that spell quite easily.

I'd like to see us perhaps try to box clever by maybe playing long balls during this period, or something else that negates this tactic.

I've a feeling we'll see a strange repeat of the Stoke game (kits included) and win this 4-1 after a sticky start.

I think it'll be 2-2. I can feel it in me bones.

Boss attackers on both sides and weak defences. I'd love us to win it like but I think we'll come from behind, with Henderson to rescue us with a screamer

CITY XI | Bravo, Zabaleta (C), Stones, Otamendi, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero

Interesting. Firmino has caused them trouble before. We get Lallana higher in the pitch. But we loose a natural striker....

Not sure why you're all so puzzled by the team...he's beefed up the midfield and placed Firmino...who most of you would have us believe is our best striker...in the central role.

Playing no striker is was what we expected pep to do. Just hope we have that cutting edge in our game in the last third..

Obvious why he's doing it - Can provides a physical answer in the middle & a great motor. Lallana's pressing will be even higher up the pitch - and we'll look to pressure their mistake prone defense.

COME ON YOU REDS!!!
