@Rosco is Joe Allen your mate ? 😉

[article=http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/9729523/joe-allen-liverpool-have-recovered-from-luis-suarez-loss-and-are-even-better-now]Joe Allen reckons Liverpool have recovered from Luis Suarez's departure - and might even be stronger without him.

The Uruguayan forward teamed up with Daniel Sturridge in attack last season and the prolific duo almost fired Liverpool to the Premier League title.

Suarez joined Barcelona last summer and, with Sturridge struggling with injuries, the Reds made a stuttering start to the current season.

But they have been in fine form since December and Sunday’s 2-0 win at Southampton was their seventh win in a 10-game unbeaten run which has fired them to within two points of fourth place.

Allen says Liverpool may now be even stronger than they were last season.
"At the start of the year we talked about how losing Suarez was going to have an affect but now we have overcome that," he said.

"It took us a little bit of time to overcome that, because the injury problems we had were not ideal.

"We are certainly back up to that level and, if anything, with the different system we play this season we might even have taken a step forward.”

Allen accepts that the team deserved criticism for some of their displays earlier in the campaign but says they were always confident that better times were on the way.

"I don't think it was unfair,” he said. “There were no hiding places and we were not delivering as players.
"There were no excuses from us. We knew there might be a difficult patch early in the season and that probably went on longer than we hoped and expected.

"At the same time, we always knew we would come through it, and I think that was the biggest sign we would be where we are at this stage."

As well as being in the thick of the race for a Champions League place, the Reds are through to the FA Cup quarter-finals and will be in Besiktas on Thursday looking to secure a place in the last 16 of the Europa League, having won the first leg 1-0.[/article]

I dont think we are better without him, but I do think the team is progressing in terms of not relying so much on one player for things to go through or to get the goals.

Thats being said we do need a worldy in the squad.. we must invest to bring in a big game player in the summer...

Have a look at points per game with and without over the time he was with us.

Ha ha I really like Joe Allen but f*ck me!

Suarez is everything you could dream of in a team.

Hard work, unselfish, goals, assists, determination, nastiness, good tough, great to tight spots, can dribble, awareness, driven.

I would sell every last player we have to get him back and just build a new team around him, he is that good.

He's amazing. I didn't take my eyes off him tonight. His movement, his constant threat. He's just a wonderful player. GKMacca's right though. It is only a matter of time before he does something crazy again. There were a few occasions tonight when he attempted to jump up and block the ball with his hands like a rugby player preventing a box kick, and if he was successful it was a clear card. He just forgets the rules at times.

It's ridiculous to think we are better without one of the world's Top 3 players.

Joe Allen didnt say what the headline suggest though did he? He's been misquoted, as usual.

Anyone who is sane wouldnt think we're better without Suarez. 3rd best player in the World.
I'd have him back any day of the week.

Stats to say he is shit. Stats to say he is ace. The only stat I like is the one that shows that you can show anything with stats.

He's footballs version of Rudy Gay or Josh Smith.

A good player who makes every team he plays for worse.

The fact that we have the most variety of goal-scorers in the Premier League is relevant here. That would have been impossible during Suarez's time at the club and serves as an indication of why we could be better off in the long-run without the Uruguayan. For that to be the case, the signings Rodgers has made have to develop into very good footballers who are admired throughout Europe. That isn't the case yet, but it could be.

Joe Allen needs to concentrate on trying to play football and not being quoted / mis-quoted in the press. As for Suarez, I'd drive all the way there without a stop to pick him up.

I have this recurring nightmare that BR gets sacked and D. Believer takes over ...
