We were unlucky today, it's not the end of the world.
We're just lacking the right players. I saw alot of positives today. Enough to think we'll beat Chelsea.

roy outwits kenny for the 3 points* we we're mad to get rid of him

*by last ditch defending all game and latching onto a fuck up at the back.

actually it's a sad state of affairs that we lost at home to West Brom and Roy and i'm not even pissed off . it's just expected now i guess .

next game is crucial, like the blackburn game we don't want to be heading into a cup final on the back of a defeat or draw.

Johnson deserves his kicking for a stupid error but where were Agger and Skrtel for their goall? Where were they when that WBA player had that great chance and instead choose to pass it back to another player. We never looked water tight at the back in this game at all and it isn't all Johnson's fault.

They gave up?

If we'd played like West Brom did against a team that played like us I hope we'd be pilloried and accepted we'd been incredibly lucky. We need a finisher. Otherwise we played fairly well.

I really hope so, the cups have given us hope.

A few decent signings and we could be up there or our season could be over again by xmas

We say this every fucking summer ... 'the transfer window is key for our season' ... I hope Kenny realizes his tenure ends if he doesn't sign 2-3 Suarez like players (i.e. players who create chances in the final 1/3 and/or finish them).

why worry is if we continue to play a pressing game with little to no reward we'll change our style of play to be a little bit more cautious so we are tighter at the back but create less chances.

Marks view from the ground:
Henderson retains possession well, in spite of passing the ball 5 yards behind his target. He also needs to learn how to attack.

Johnson... Decent performance. But Oh dear defensively. As per.

Enrique : not awful which was promising

Kuyt: ran about and missed a sitter. Sound.

We thus far are on course with matching our worst home win record

We don't need another Suarez. We need a finisher.

Why 3 defenders on the bench? I know none of them came on, but 2nd half was crying out for someone like Sterling, even if he has got an exam tomorrow.

I really can't even be bothered to answer that.

loads of corners essentially means you are having a lot possession in the opposition half but has next to nothing to do with long balls. you mean to tell me you can't earn a corner if a ball is pumped up field?

This isn't going to suddenly get better if we continue to field the likes of Carroll, Downing, Kuyt, Maxi, Henderson, Spearing & Bellamy in the manner that we do.

Carroll needs pacy wide players to get to the by-line and whip crosses in - Kuyt & Maxi are not those players.

In turn Kuyt & Maxi need technically proficient players moving with guile upfront & joining the attack - Carroll & Henderson are not those players.

Bellamy shouldn't be hugging the right touchline and Spearing is a squad player who at best can operate breaking up opposition play, but needs someone to pass the ball to - Henderson is not that player.

In the end, don't let Johnson's fuck up detract from the real problem - and I'd almost say Henderson & Spearing weren't the problem either.... the issue is our attacking bank of players bar Suarez is wank. Bellamy might have his uses as an impact player, but it's pointless playing him as a winger.

It's been going on all season... to be honest it's been going on for a lot longer, but we actually seem to be getting worse.

Hence I said, 'or finish 'em' ... I want a system we had with Kenny last year. So a better version of Maxi (Muniain? Hazard?), a better version of Meirless (Eriksen?) and a better version of Kuyt (Soldado?)

Three attacking players and we can challenge for what we need. No fuck 4th, I want 1st. I've had enough of this '4th' stuff! 🙂

We didnt play badly at all, just couldnt finish our chances. But we need a couple of attacking players. Thankfully this season is over soon.
