horrible challenge aside I thought he was suberb last night and what a challenge on the edge of the box. brilliant.
it's so odd that he seems far more secure on the left than the right.

I don't buy this myth, he's looked fine on the right for me. That aside, he was fantastic last night, he's a fantastic player who we all hugely underrated.

I don't believe we *all* underrated him.

Never saw the game last night do can't comment but I've heard nothing but glowing reviews so well done to the lad

Hope it continues

He is a good player, I've never said any less, he is a good 'player', I don't think he's a particularly great defender, last night he got my MOTM for his defensive play, he won a few crucial challenges that helped us get the win and was occasionally a good outlet, but for once his defensive play overshadowed his attacking play. If he can keep that balance and not make stupid errors or fall asleep, then he's a great asset. He has been poor too many times defensively though, but he's still young.

I think last night was one of those nights that showed Kelly still has much to learn, despite all the raw talent.

Something wrong here. I don't give him half the shit that a lot of my mates do but he was very poor at times yesterday. Gifted them a chance in the first half, got outmuscled and beaten by Richards for another, let the ball run out of play a couple of times. Couldn't take instructions to get up the field when Dogleash tried to change the formation. I saw one good tackle in the second half and then another when he was lucky to stay on the pitch.

He seemed really determined to do everything with his left foot when at left back. Could have cut inside on his right a few times and headed for the box, instead of trying to outrun a faster player to cross with his weaker foot and fail to beat the first man. That aside, overall he was pretty good.

He was good last night - I wouldn't say he was our best defender though. That would be Skittles IMO.

I agree. Wasn't overly impressed by Glojo at all last night.

I thought Gerrard was MoTM yesterday, constantly in control of the ball.

Did he give it away at all?

I saw him clear the ball in the 2nd half...

I don't think it's that odd really. We saw the exact same phenomenon with Carra years ago when he played at LB and looked better than he had over on the right, and IMO for the same reason, namely positioning. Both are very right-footed by inclination and tended to get isolated from their CB over on the right wing. On the left they're actually looking (and playing) towards their CB when the ball's on their right foot.

That said, I think Magic's play at RB has clearly improved under Kenny and with the benefit of Clarke's coaching.
