On the subject of causing offence, I wonder how the children (and their parents) at the schools where I'm a governor would feel about that "spaz" reference. Someone please explain to me how what Terry said, cnutish as it is, merits the full force of the law any more than Ferdinand's insult.

EDIT: the schools in question are special schools and the children all have disabilities of one kind or another.
Apolgies for the confusion, the 'spaz' bit may or may not have been said m'lud and could, in theory, have been an elaboration on my part.

All misunderstandings aside - It is an odd one though regarding the current zeitgeist regarding whats offensive and what isn't . I think Fox's post pretty much sums it up. In that there are questions marks over what is acceptable and what isn't.
