Joe Allen, LFC midfielders and midfield combinations and now the Jordan Henderson thread

1. Other people are endorsing Allen's signing guys, it's not just me.
2. I've been wrong before
3. If I get it wrong remember; Paddy stole ILD's money and Brendan called you all cunts - they're the real villains.
4. If I'm wrong, I promise I'll learn to like/love Lucas if you call off the lynch mob.

Genuine question, is Pesam some sort of football god or something?
Nah It's just that I watch more lower league football than Premier League so with players like Allen I get a chance to see them before most of you and more often. I've probably seen Joe Allen play at least 12-15 times (full games) which I guess is more than most.

So is this really happening or is it simply "Sky Sports sources understand" type bullshit?

I've not seen much of Allen so can't really comment one way or another. Comparing that potential trio to Barca's is high praise indeed. Obviously not going to be at the same level but if they can play to half of that we'll still be in pretty good shape.

Definitely want to see Suso in the first team this season. He looks ready.

I can't quite believe this might happen. It's too good to be true.

I've wanted this kid since I first clapped eyes on him about 2 years ago. I was watching some bullshit Swansea game and he stood out like a sore thumb. I knew next to nothing about any of the players on the ground but kept getting drawn to this one kid who was using the ball better than anyone else there. He was quite clearly on another level to everyone else there. It took me about 5 more minutes to get to find out his name from the back of his shirt.

He's not quick, he's not a goalscorer, he's got no stepovers, he's not big, strong, combative, box to box, or huge on assist either. But he's as good a 'true' footballer as I've seen in years. I fucking LOVE how he plays. Neat interplay, comfortable in possession, passes round the corner, always looking for it, and doing shit 99% of others don't even think about doing. If ypu can play in between the lines with your head up constantly - where space is at a premium - then you can fucking play.

Silva, Iniesta, Nasri. He's in that mould for me. He's not as good as them, not by a long stretch, but his potential is staggering. If he signs, you'll probably watch him in some ore season game and think 'is this it?', by the end of next season he'll be one of the most important players in our squad.

I'm hyping him up here, but I haven't been this pleased with a Liverpool signing in years. Finally we're about to buy a real fucking footballer.

Joe Allen completed 91.2% of his passes last season & only two Premier League players made more tackles (110)

Ok, considering Pesam's scouting is 94.7% accurate, and Ryan's is 92.1% (in fairness, he only lost 7% because of Hayden Mullins), I think if Joe will be a great player for this club.

SIGN SIGN SIGN already.

You're deluding yourself. This is Joe Allen, and he doesn't have balls big enough to step out at Anfield, take the ball off Steven Gerrard and start passing it around like he knows what he's doing. The most likely outcome is he'll feel like a little inferior bitch, and be content to run around doing the donkey work for others. Quite right he'd be as well.

What's his spatial awareness like?

Pesam, you ain't wrong at all. There's more than a few of us thats been hoping that we seal the Allen deal. 13.5M for for him is great business.

He is not much older than Henderson but what a massive improvement. I'm wondering if this means Gerrard will play on the right with Borini central and Suarez left? So Allen and Lucas in tandem has great potential me thinks.😀

Things are finally looking up....

On the contrary Dantes, you're deluded if you think I'm going to take heed of your opinion about what happens on a football pitch.

He's actually looked pretty quick, and has seemed to have more than decent ability running with the ball, whenever I've seen him play. I know he played the Xavi role for Swansea last year, but I get the feeling he'll probably make his mark in the more advanced Nasri type position you allude to. I also reckon he'll have some goalscoring ability in him.

hmmmmmm1 & Mr. Moo have competition for the 'Most Miserable Bastard of the Year' award!
haha i dont even know why i said that, i think im just trolling, he'll be good but he doesnt really excite me, he needs to have a spanish name and every kick should be a robano with bells on

If it makes it any better for you, his name before he moved to England was Jose Allenoso

I know why that is. You have seen him play, and in the back of your mind you notice a little insignificant detail that when he doesn't get the return pass where he wants it, he just turns and chases it back down. When he's trying to play a pass that the other player isn't making space for, he just picks another pass. But you don't see him bollock his teammate and tell him to fuck off or call him a useless shit.

So in the back of your mind, that tells you he is the type of character that believes that shit about it being a team game and everyone helping each other. So then you get that feeling of when he comes here, he'll adapt to try and help his teammates, rather than to risk upsetting them by telling them to fuck off. And if his teammates are better players than he is, that means he does the donkey work. Instead, what he should be thinking about if he wants to succeed here is how best exploit his teammates to make himself look better. Lampard is awesome at this, and Shelvey is going to be too.
