You're deluding yourself. This is Joe Allen, and he doesn't have balls big enough to step out at Anfield, take the ball off Steven Gerrard and start passing it around like he knows what he's doing. The most likely outcome is he'll feel like a little inferior bitch, and be content to run around doing the donkey work for others. Quite right he'd be as well.
He's not prolific by any stretch of the imagination, he'll possibly score 4 or 5 per season for us. I think BR's plan is to have lots of potential goalscorers around him (Suarez, Borini, Dempsey, Gerrard etc) and Allen's job will be to unpick locks to set these goalscorers free on goal.Hes tidy in possession and tackles back.... cool.
Does he score goals? Christ knows we need some from midfield.
On a positive note, at least you have the ability to win awards ...
I've told you for a while anyways that you always come off as negative -- it will change once we win the league this year.
15m for an uncapped british player? wtf? sounds like last summer all over again.

Give it a rest.
I already did mate - red_maradona has you trumped. Sorry for giving you hope! 😉
The forum really needs someone to hate this guy.
I thought one of the advantages of signing players from the Premiership was that the haters already knew enough about them to formulate a theory of why they were going to fail and be a waste of money.
There's nothing worse than having to wait for two or three games of the season for the haters to emerge, but I can tolerate it when it's some claudio gonzalez type who we've signed from one of those silly foreign leagues in Spain or Italy that the haters know nothing about.
But for a british based player I expect to come on here and see a detailed account of how he's too small, too slow, lacking courage, coming off one good season, a big fish in a small pond, wimpy legged, shit hair, slows down the play, crap taste in clothes, blows hot and cold, plays hollywood balls, can't adapt to a system, cheats too much, will never understand the club, plays too many sideways passes, doesn't score enough, makes his own cheese, etc. etc.
So come on someone, please step forward and keep this forum's great traditions alive!
i'm not denying he could be the messiah, but for anything over 10m we are nuts. we should have learnt from our lessons - british players we sign for over the price of 10m generally turn out rubbish.
i hope you're right, but indications are that we are going to be screwed again for a british player. mind you all these sexy young brazilian wannabes (ocasr, lucas, neymar, douglas) seem to be in the 20m+ price bracket. maybe the likes of allen are all we can realistically afford, especially after spunking 50m on carrol and henderson. This time I think we'll be ok. We have overspent on british players in the recent past but after seeing the fee for Borini and Rodgers statements on market value etc I feel we should cut some slack. I don't think Rodgers will be held to ransom with clubs just because we are who we are.
It's ok, he can up the ante now.
Mark, give your super fan bollocks a rest for the new season.
Its just a saga now Gk.
You will have to put up with it forever.
Some fool will bicker with you for no reason then when you retort they will accuse you of moaning about the press (when you didnt) then youll say 'I didnt mention the press at all' and then they will say you need to calm down and stop threatening to be a sulk or some such bollocks.
Sorry dude youve got 'history' now.
I get it with Flip flopping all the time even about subjects i havnt changed about.
Fuck em.
And fuck Michael 'hobgoblin' owen and anyone who DOESNT think hes a shitty little bellend.
