Perhaps he makes the job he does look simple.
Personally I'd easily pay that much for him, he's a fantastic prospect.
Especially if the money means we don't have enough left over for Dempsey.
Very good signing - but someone has to be gone (Adam? Aquilani?)
I'm afraid the days when either of those could have passed a medical are long gone.
Both ? Don't think it will be Spearing otherwise we have no cover for Lucas.
One of Spearing, Adam, Aquilani or even Henderson will be off.
Spearing stays ... it's not worth it, until we sign martinez next year obviously.
As I said Spearing is cover for Lucas - stays.
Henderson - Moneyball. Stays.
Adam - with Allen and Suso we don't need him. Gone.
Aquilani - doesn't want to be here. Gone
Lucas, Spearing, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Downing and Suso is plenty for 3 places.
I'm not sure if Spearing is cover for Lucas. Spearing offers energy and a good tackle but gets caught out plenty.
I'll be interested to see which of the central midfielders makes the cut and copes with the shift to possession type football.
Adam and Aquilani are being counted out but may well surprise under Rodgers. Suso is getting all the plaudits and rightfully so but Jonjo will have something to say about it.
Henderson could play there in emergencies too. A midfield three of Lucas, Allen and Gerrard with Henderson pushing them for a place would be superb. Adam and Aqualani need to leave. Hopefully they can fetch 10m between them.
Henderson @ DM? He's a shithouse in the tackle so I'd be very unhappy as him being any cover for DM.
£15m for a classy young player like Allen is nothing, really. It's exaclty where we should be investing our money. Hoping this happens. Although I agree our midfield options are beginning to look a bit hard to make sense of.

Although maybe I'm just not expert enough on Rodgers's 4-3-3. How would the above 9 fit into it? Cos to me it looks like Cole, Aquilani, (no surprises there obv) and Adam need to be sold, and maybe proper cover for Lucas brought in.

I'm guessing some of those 9 may play in the front three. Gerrard may well do anyway, and possibly Cole if he's staying.
Cole will play in the wing-forward role ( if he stays). We tried playing him in the middle and it back fired on us.
As third choice he'd been fine, this is only in emergencies, he's got good energy and positions himself well, it's not just about making amazing tackles, and I don't think he's as bad as tackling as you make out, still as emergency cover, I'd be happy with him.
if he's not worth 15 mill then why the fuck are we buying him? we deffo need someone worth at least 15 mill considering how many 'decent' options we already have in centre mid.

I wish people would stop including him in our list of midfielders until he is signed.
