Arsenal 26 games

Man U 25 games (including charity shield)

Man City 24 games

Tottenham 21 games

Chelsea 23 games

Liverpool 19 games

Edit I just saw your last post.

See on average we've been playing about 4.5 games per month. That makes it about 5-6 days rest on average between games.

The only doubts are Carrol and Downing, if Downings 3 hits v the woodwork had been goals, we wouldn't be doubting him really, some people say he was shit yesterday, I watched the match and he was far from it, as for Carrol .... well lets hope he clicks and clicks fast .......

BTW Man U have played 25 games not 22 and I'm talking official games.

Did Arse have to qualify for the CL?

they must have so those early games don't count (the goals scored have NEVER counted as CL goals in it) same as the Charity Shield, they are all ways classed as PRE SEASON and ALWAYS HAVE BEEN .... * Charity Shield that is ...

The CL Qualifiers do count after the Premier leage starts though, they pre season ones are just played in place of pre season friendlies ...

Forget that, of course they played that amount of games, but they did what we used to do, just drop some friendlies to fit them in, they played Qualifiers we played friendlies , get what I mean?

7 "no's" and 1 "yes" mean YES !

Let's remember this time last year we played some dire football and were almost fighting a relegation battle. Top 4 is harder now than it has ever been and to get there will represent over-achievement in my opinion and we are in the mix. The time to Judge King Kenny is at the end of the season, as of now we play some beautiful football and have been very unlucky in matches.

At the start of the season I'd have put us above Arse and Spurs based on the fact that we spent so much money and Arse lost their best two players. I don't think 4th would be an over achievement by any stretch, I'd say anything less is failure.

And no, failure doesn't mean sack, it means must do better next time.

Depends on what the goals are ...if it's only to finish 4th then we are doing well enough i guess although depending on results then we could be 5 points off that soon. I mean we are 6th , is that a good enough job ? Seems for most it is .

Look , don't get me wrong , i love so much about what the king is doing and trying to do but I am a little disappointed with how we spent large amounts of money on average players . Feels like a missed opportunity and i don't hold as much hope as lots here seem to that we'll spend big again soon and those mistakes won't matter . And nobody seems to be looking beyond 4th and asking are these players , who i suspect will be here for some time , good enough to step up to the next level we want ...ie league challengers . So far i am not convinced they can .

And i don't buy the argument that we were heading for administration and relegation so that means we're in a great position now . It was a crazy position that we never should have found ourselves in and once it was averted we were back in a decent position was some good players and potential , especially when we spent over £100m to add to that .

Anyway most here seem confident everything is going to click soon and we'll really kick on strongly so i'm hoping you're right ...guess we just have to see what happens over the rest of the season.
Doesn't matter a light that we should never have found ourselves in that position. We WERE in that position, and the speed and efficiency of our escape from it under Kenny has been little short of miraculous. I absolutely stand by the view that that alone says he's done a good job so far. The job's not complete yet, and it would be legitimate to say we haven't pushed on from such a great start as far as we might have done, but the idea that that means we can't say Kenny's done well thus far is IMO simply ridiculous.

How the fuck did Spurs get that loan deal??

7 goals in 11 PL games would have us right up there!!

'Arry says he wants him perma now but the 170,000 quid a week wages 'might be a bit of a stumbling block' 🙁

He's doing a good job, but I was expecting more.
Why?

No European football for instance and maybe even the fact that he had +50 Million to spend this summer.

He pretty much has 7 days rest between every game unlike the other top teams.

So yeah he's doing OK.
I think it is the end of the season that you'll see the effects of euroean fatigue, with us remaing relatively fresh.

I think it's a mixed bag. He's obviously made some expensive errors in the transfer market, but equally, he's picked up some very good players for relatively little. We're not scoring nearly as many as we should be (which I think is partly because we bought the wrong players), but our overall play is much better. I'm still waiting for us to put a run together, which I think we will at some point.

There's no better person in the media than Kenny, and I think he's the perfect person to oversee the phasing out of some of our older players (I'm not sure the likes of Hodgson could so easily exclude Carra from the team). I think we have to treat this season as an opportunity for Kenny and the new players to find their feet. We'll need to do better next season, though.

What does Harry care, he wont be there next season, and then Spurs will start to fade away with stars leaving.

The bit that gets underestimated is that we are passing the ball better than at any point since he was last here. It's finally good to watch. It looks like someone soon is going to get a proper dicking, it's only sticking the ball away that's missing.

Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League every year for well over 10 years, Man City have spent almost a billion, Man Utd speak for themselves and Chelsea too. Add Tottenham and ourselves, its fair to say we would have overachieved to get top 4 after where we were this time last year.

I agree with RedZeppelin. I don't think our position during Roy's time was a true reflection of the teams abilities rather how badly mismanaged we were. Although it may have seemed it at the time, Kenny is not a miracle worker. He had some good players at his disposal and brought in a truly excellent one in Suarez.

His first six months were a joy though. To have a great manager that understands the club, carries an infectious enthusiasm for Liverpool, exudes confidence and authority and handles all external parties with effortless ease - it was just wonderful. The heaven to Roy's hell.

Things are a little different now. A lot of money has been spent - questionably in some cases - and the expectation was that we'd finish in the top four. There are undoubtedly signs of progress and of course the way we approach games is a big improvement but I think the answer to the question rests on our final position at the end of the season.

Serious question. Obviously we all love the King, that's never in question.

He was brilliant when he came in in January and turned things round in a massive way. But what are people's thoughts about how he's done since?
So far it's been miraculous. Obviously it's not finished yet, we need to bring in some more quality players to really push on - it's never been any different. I will give him the next two transfer windows before I start questioning his progress.

They've sorted out and stabilised a squad that was in pieces, now they have to take it to the next level, but naturally that requires a bit of patience from the fans.

i think an important question that's been hinted at but never really discussed is just how much influence kenny had over the transfers, especialy andy carroll. i think it was mentioned somewhere that he said carroll was really comolli's signing; if true then that puts a completely different spin on what me and plenty of others see as his biggest failing of the last year. it's always assumed he had little to do with the suarez signing, largely because he hadn't been here long enough to be much involved, so if the same is true of carroll then that takes the blame away from him for his biggest blunder in most people's eyes.

It's never been discussed because we already know Kenny has the final say on transfers

First thing I did after my first season on football manager 2012, was to transfer list Carroll and Downing. No takers. However Fulham were willing to take Carroll on loan with a fee set to £6.5 Million. I accepted.
Downing spent the entire season with the reserves.
Carroll rejected Fulham and later on I was forced to terminate Downings contract.
A year later and Downing still hasnt found a new club.

i wasn't aware. but that wouldn't hold for the january signings, anyway, surely?

Yes I think so. Good not great.
Id like to see a couple of things different but then its just my ideas and i know fuck all.

3 points off 3rd as it stands, unbeaten at home, playing lovely football, a credit to the club when being interviewed, why even ask?

This....
Steady progress I guess. We're starting to play some of the good, one touch football again and he's signed some good players in Enrique, Adam, Henderson & Bellamy, with a couple of questionable ones in Downing & Carroll. We're still some way off though and we look like we still need a striker and a wide player to really get back to the top, results are too narrow at the minute which is why we're drawing/losing games, because we haven't got the fire power to kill teams off, but we've been brilliant defensively.. Give us a Van Persie or a Villa and we'll be laughing.
and really this.

Never wanted Villa that much until this season. He'd have been perfect for us in our current form.

We're only 4 or 5 goals this season off being top 3. That could easily be a line from a lot of teams but none of them have created anywhere near the chances we have. One clinical finisher is all we're missing. A great wide man and Gerrard would be fantastic but a finisher would get us what we want this season.
