A scientist has no reason to know what functionalism or ontology mean. We're here doing are little science stuff, and then other people lecture us about it being an ontology. The thing that's happening is people have an ego and want their own field to be the be-all, the fundamental underlying stuff. So a philosopher then gets to think he is at the centre of the universe, and science is just a subset of philosophy. Similarly the scientist fobs off philosophy as an archaic and obsolete relic from the past. In this way, neither person feels inadequate about the size of their penis.

Scientists and Philosophers are like the white people and Asian people. Dantes the mathematician looks on as the proverbial black man in this metaphor.
