SG has been good so far, but really he is slowing down now. Strange that the media is pissing so much praise over him when really his best years have passed. What it shows is that had the media not forced previous England managers to keep thinking over SG/Lampard then maybe some manager with some guts would have gone ahead and dropped Lampard and played some other guys to do the donkey work and allowed Gerard to do what he use to do best in those days !!! Further they should have given him the captaincy long long ago after Beckham left it.

I think the real issue here is the fact that although his best years have passed, his worst years are always going to be some of thebestever to grace a football pitch because he's A: Steven fucking Gerrard and B: He is still one of the best players in the world because even though his standards may have slipped from those dizzying heights of 5 years ago he is still light years ahead of most players on the fucking planet.
