Post Match Fulham (H) 2-2 Dec 14th

I want to give Robbo the benefit of the doubt and say the early knock affected him.

He's also had to play a lot of football lately and looked a bit tired.

But realistically we need to be looking at a new LB soon. Robbo kept as back up.

He’s had about four howlers already this season…a wonderful servant to the club but his successor needs to be here and driving him out of the team.

I wonder if Slot regrets bringing on Quansah in this game. He was utterly devoid of confidence and slowed us down when we were pushing for the equalizer. Having Gravvy at CB was working, there was no need to change.

On the positive side, welcome back Jota! We missed you.
I don't think so. A big shout out to Gomez who not only wrapped up LB in defence but put a lot into attack as well. I think he's our best LB at the moment.

Terrific effort from just about everyone today. Some better execution and we could have had all 3 points.

Quansah had a mare and the less said about Robbo the better.

Mo had an absolute worldy of an assist but was otherwise in Robinson's pocket.

Trent. I don't even know what to say.

Gravy, absolute world class there.

In hindsight, would have been better to leave Szobo on and just sub Trent for Elliott.

I'm gonna start calling Trent, Mr Hollywood

Nothing but pride from that display and 100% a point gained after the sending off.

Slot and this squad have the metal for a title push, superb fight today.

Robertson unlucky, gets flattened, could have been a red, should arguably have been taken off then gets caught out.

Harvey looked a different class when he came on, deserved a goal.

Gravy majestic at the back, he’s so good at turning away from pressure and moving us forward in possession where others would just hoof it away and nobody would question it. It makes such a difference and he does it so often in tight spaces.

Jota -sublime composure for the goal both in the turn and finish. What a clinical difference he makes. Please please please Slot protect him.

Salah was pretty rubbish today but set up the important equaliser and on another day would have had at least one peno.

Diaz was shite and Gakpo at least got a goal.

Alison with a crucial save to keep it 2-2. He’s so fucking good.

Slot, tactically great after a shaky start.

Thank fuck Arsenal wobbled again. Chelsea will win tomorrow but 5pt gap is much better than I expected at 3:20pm.

None of his Hollywood balls found target either – if they did you could excuse defensive mistakes. When pushed up into midfield he looked just about as comfortable as playing for Southgate’s England.

The stats are worth a mention considering we played 82 mins with 10 men vs one of the form teams in the PL:

Possession 60.6% vs 39.4%
Shots 16 (4) vs 12 (3)
Touches in the Box 34 vs 17
GK Saves : 1 vs 2
Corners : 5 vs 4

True.

He always has a great game against us. I don't understand how we kep playing from the right side knowing Salah was getting owned.
The magic was happening between Diaz-Jota on the opposite side
Don't be mentioning Diaz like he was relevant

Personally thought everything worthwhile was either Jota or Elliott based

The fact that Alison still made more saves shows the issue with our front line

Oh definitely, but Diaz did Ok after Jota came on.
Elliott was great
Diaz did fine, but I think gakpo and Jota would have worked better. I didn't understand taking gakpo off ahead of Diaz

Because we needed someone who could run at their defence. Also Gakkers looked a bit tired

Tsimi isn't back from injury , Robbo suspended and Konate out. Quansah looks like a liability. So who plays CB and who plays LB? Do we go 3 at the back and 4 in MF with Endo coming in to give extra protection?

@Brizzle do your thing. People are ready to move on.

Jokes aside, I think one of the kids will get a chance. Nallo or Norris.

Apart from the actual football of it all, two non-calls changed that game, for me...

Early in the first half, the lad who would score two minutes later ran his studs down the back of Gravy's calf, in a foul that has seen multiple players sent off this season - I have no idea how that's not a red card. No attempt to play the ball, endangering the safety of the opponent.

Early in the second half, Gravy let the ball run across his body, deep n our half, and started driving towards their half... he was blatantly pulled back by their player (the outstanding LB, I think), who was already on a yellow card. Gravy slowed, but didn't go down, and the ref did nothing... That's a clear yellow and the boy should be gone.

Alisson : 8 (only the one save to make)

Robertson : 3 (too slow for their goal and a terrible Red.
Virgil : 8
Gomez : 9 (superb at LB)
Trent : 5 he is just NOT a FB. I'm not actually sure what he is. It was like watching greyhounds get passed by the rabbit at a race meet. Except he didn't then run after it.

Gravy : 9 (superb everywhere) MotM.
Szobo : 5 lots of energy zero end result
Jones : 6 very silly Yellow.

Salah : 4 (and that includes +1 for the assist) he was absolute crap again and messed up almost everything he tried.
Diaz : 6
Gakpo : 6 (inc. +1 for the goal)

Subs
Quansah : 5 (confidence shot)
Jota : 9 made a real difference and a sublimely taken goal
Elliott : 8 also made a difference
Nunez : 7 (lovely spot and pass to Jota = +1)

Slot : 9 (guts)

Gomez at left and Quansah in the middle. Give him a chance to redeem himself.

There was one that found Gakpo - but we made nothing of it when we should have.
