Sort of disproving the the theory that Spain are boring. If teams play 2 up front and a creative midfielder then Spain will destroy them playing beautiful football. When Spain are "boring" it's because the opposition play negatively to dull Spain's threat.

Ironically Italy's best chance of getting anything from this game (not that I think they will) is to take off one of their best 2 players, Cassano or Pirlo.They need to get more defensive and hold onto the 1-0 scoreline and then in the last 15 minutes ramp up a bit of pressure. IMO this game will be over by half time.

Honestly I think they do. They are controlling the game and look dangerous on virtually every attack whereas Italy seem to be running on passion and hope.

So pleased with that half. After all the criticism around their tactics, not playing a striker, arrogance etc. to go with the hype around Balotelli and Italy that was great.

Italy can still salvage this though. They are getting enough of the ball so they just need to create better chances. Spain have defended well so far but they can be got at.

It's interesting to compare this game against their group game. To me this game has been far more open .. and Italy have paid the price. Italy look very tired though, mentally and physically.
