Eriksen not coming to Liverpool

Just scored the opener for Ajax from a free kick in their friendly match against Dynamo Dresden (German Division 2 side).

Ajax starting XI: Vermeer; Ligeon, Veltman, Moisander, Boilesen; Poulsen, De Jong, Eriksen; Boerrigter, Sigthorsson, Fischer

Edit: Scored his 2nd from another free kick.

There's still the better part of two months left, but it would be nice to get a deal done for one or the other.

Eriksen's agent in todays BT

- Yes, we are in ongoing talks with specific clubs as is always the case with a player like Christian.

- At this stage it's difficult to say whether the contact will result in a transfer, so there's no need for me to speculate about this.

He also reiterates that Eriksen will sign a new extension to his current contract should he stay with Ajax, making certain that the club will receive a fee when he eventually leaves.

I dont know whats worse.. The MK saga thread or the possible resurrection of our Interest in Erikkson

oooh the pain... MY eyes are bleeeeddddddddiiiiiiiinggggggggg......

Having said that though I would take Erikkson as an Alternative to MK...

With a year left on his contract he won't be worth more than 10 million euro which I guess is too low for Ajax.

I wonder where Alberto fits into the picture. He seemed to be concerned enough about playing time to move from Sevilla to Barcelona last season so it would be interesting to know if he was given any assurances about his role this year - hanging about in the reserves would be a big step back for him.

On the surface of things he could substitute for someone like Mkhitarian given that he played the false #9 last season - not exactly the same role but still.

With us missing out on Henri MkRyan, Bramble may just be a possible but worthy alternative.

Has his career gone down the shitter in the last couple of years or something? Only a couple of years ago he was being touted as a £20m player who everyone would want. Now no one wants him for a very modest fee.

Ajax are holding out for £12M if reports are to be believed.

Personally I don't think that is by any means excessive and to be honest, knowing what we have spend on arguably worse players in the past, we shouldn't be thinking twice about this. Not an argue in itself of course, but this is a bargain prize really and only possible because of his contractual status.

Another great Season with Ajax, a new 4-year-contract and he'll be at least as expensive as Henrikh. We need to act now. In my opinion.

He has just enjoyed his best ever Season ever with Ajax only tipped for the Eredivisie "Player of the Year" award by the Ivorian goal-machine Bony.

I do agree though taking his prize into consideration it's rather odd that all has gone quiet about him. If his agents words are to be believed they are perhaps considering their options very thoroughly before deciding - or maybe simply the top teams have second thoughts about him.

Either way, at the quoted fee, he's easily worth the punt.

??

It was a stand alone point. I think he's a good player. If we signed him i'd be happy.

I'm already sick of hearing about this guy and how he wants to make sure Ajax receive a fee, only move if it's the right move, is a big one for the future blah blah blah.

Fact is nobody wants him except when they miss out on their first choice target (like now)

Is he any good anyway?
My only impression of him was in the last World Cup when he looked about Jonjo Shelvey's standard

I mean obviously, some people here rate him but what's he good for really? Does he shit goals and runs like Mkithryan? Does he spray passes like Alonso? Is he made of steel? Is he visionary like Coutinho? Does he have a steel shot like Alberto?

He looks like Nick Bendtner so he's already lost a lot of credibility tbh...

That's way harsh.

I know he's receding a bit, but he's not that bald!!!!

No his contract has run down and I'm pretty sure thats there's a few clubs in for him. I suspect that we may just get him. Let's wait and see.

  1. CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN may be holding talks with Liverpool and Tottenham.

The Ajax star, 24, is valued at around £15m and has attracted interest from both Premier League clubs.
Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots has revealed that he is holding discussions with clubs over a possible move away as his contract enters the last 12 months.

Schoots told Sporten.dk: "We are still keeping in touch with certain clubs. "That will always be the case with a player like Christian. At this point, it is hard to tell if it will end up with a transfer."

The Denmark midfielder would be a perfect fit for Liverpool, who have just missed out on signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Spurs have also just been dealt a transfer blow after seeing David Villa sign for Atletico Madrid.

Anyone know about the reliability of the Star?

The link is from Liverpool ECHO btw. I am not sure what happened but my copy-paste FAILED!

EDIT: The Star is the Daily Star? Credibility way low then, looks a bit like a non-story really made up from his agents comments yesterday... ah well.
