Amsterdammed? Eriksen is also being chased by Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool target Christian Eriksen will snub the Kop and sign a new contract at Ajax if Brendan Rodgers does not make a £15million offer in the next month, writes the Sunday People.
Danish dazzler Eriksen is keen on a move to Anfield, with the Reds on his trail for the past few months and battling Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund for his signature. However Eriksen’s camp has revealed that the attacking midfielder is set to sign a new Ajax deal because of ‘mixed messages’ from Merseyside.
A source close to Eriksen said: “One minute there was a concrete interest and Liverpool were willing to pay the fee, but now they are taking their time.”

Name of the Rose: Rodgers is interested in Sunderland defender

Rodgers is weighing up the market before making a firm bid for a player who is one of the brightest talents in Europe – but also similar in style to some of his other players.
The Dane is willing to commit to Ajax if he does not get the answer he wants from Liverpool – or Dortmund.
Kop boss Rodgers is desperate to persuade Tottenham to sell him England Under-21 left-back Danny Rose.
Rose enjoyed a successful season-long loan at Sunderland but has yet to hear whether Spurs intend to make him their first-choice left-back next season.
Rodgers is willing to off-load left-back Jose Enrique to fund a move for Rose.

Is Danny Rose any good?

Yes but I dont think he would walk in an immediately displace Enrique, not on one of Enriques good days anyway, when hes going through one of his end of season sleepwalking periods probably. Rose looks like he will be a good player but Id be surprised if Spurs sell him as I had figured they would move on Assou Ekoto to make way for him

So it seems that Liverpool either don't think he's worth the money or that we don't really need him. Quite strange For a guy who was meant to be one of the hottest prospects and who all of Europe wanted. Has he had a poor season or something as I thought loads of clubs would be in for him.

That article seems like BS .... It's not 'Liverpool or 'new contract'' ... It's more like 'Dortmund, Liverpool, or another big team and bye bye Ajax'

I have only seen Maher a couple of times and he looks a good prospect, however, he could be on his way to Ajax and Eriksen could very much be on his way out, why no manager in the world would answer; No, he can not be better than our former player. What kind of message would that be.

This is not me saying Maher couldn't turn out to be better of course, merely arguing that you can hardly derive much from his "telling silence".

I hope Neil Jones doesn't know anything btw.

We aren't signing any Danes mate.

It's not you, it's us, things just aren't working out and we're in different places. We still want to be friends with Danish players, but can't really commit to anything more long term.

Maybe we could try again someday.

Haha...

Oh no ! Another club interested in him ! Now it is us , Dortmund and erm Everton. ( Link is in Dutch)

Ajax are making the smartest moves here by going for Adam Maher and Marco Van Ginkel. I would take both of them for us.

Ajax have admitted defeat in their battle with Chelsea for Marco Van Ginkel.

Sporting director Marc Overmars has said they cannot compete with the Blues for the Vitesse Arnhem midfielder, who is currently with the Netherlands Under-21 squad at the European Championship.

Van Ginkel could be Mourinho’s first signing in his second spell at Stamford Bridge, much to Overmars’ disappointment.

"Ajax were very interested in Van Ginkel and we were willing to go quite far," Overmars told Voetbal International.

"But if we have to compete with one of the big clubs from England it is always going to be difficult for us. We cannot beat Chelsea's financial resources."

Vitesse are reportedly willing to sell the 20-year-old for around £8.4million, who impressed in the Eredivisie last season, winning the “Dutch Talent of the Year” award.

Van Ginkel also made his debut for the Netherlands senior side this year and has recently said he is flattered by the reports linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have a good relationship with the Dutch club, having sent several players on loan to Vitesse over the past few seasons.

According to Dutch sources Monaco are about to field a £12M offer meeting Ajax' evaluation of Eriksen. Dortmund has earmarked De Bruyne as their main target whilst both Everton and Spurs are now thought to be in dialogue with Ajax as well.

Liverpool are said to be no longer in the hunt - our main target has switched to Henrikh.

It both baffles me and surprises me if this is indeed the case, that we've pulled out of this, but we'll see.

*Eriksen at Everton would be just dandy btw.

Seems like Eriksen isn't as highly rated as he used to be. There must be a reason why liverpool are willing to spend £10m more for Henrikh.

Seems like Coutinho is filling the role previously envisioned for Bramble and Henrikh is quite different. He seems more physical and have others have said a bit Gerrard-like. Anyway, I am guessing that Coutinho has had more impact on our Bramble interest than anything else.

Not doubting his quality, just wondering why things have seemingly gone cold for him. Tottenham signing Paulinho (although could still be in for him but it looks like striker is the next priority), Dortmund supposedly to be after him but apparently turning to Mkhitaryan despite the Armenian's high transfer fee. On our side, it also seem that he did not feature at the top of the list. Is it simply because the fee demanded is deem to high for a player with a yr left on his contract? Will he stay on at Ajax for another season of regular and CL football and then leave on a free?

He has always said he would not leave on a free but would sign a new contract with Ajax so they do not lose money on him. They have missed the two players they wanted as replacements and interest in him does not seem high at the moment so this could happen. I find the lack of interest strange myself as he is quality.

Reports in the press claimed that Dortmund weren't convinced by him. If true, I wonder why.

Perhaps Ajax simply need to lower their price.

I've read somewhere that its the same reason our interest cooled. We werent convinced by him or how he'd adapt/fit in to the team.
