Eriksen, an insight from a Dane, Jan Molby

Eriksen, a Big Game Player?

Well, yeah, perhaps, according to himself at least. (And I am not going to disagree)

- There shouldn't be any difference but I won't deny it, my level increases when we face better opponents like when playing in the Champions League, where the ball is being moved around at greater pace and everyone reacts and thinks the game faster. That really suits my style of play, Eriksen told Voetbal International.

When quizzed about his loss of the ball that led to the PSV counter-attack goal he replied,

- I am always setting up my game with a high risk. That suits my style and character perfectly.

Don't think Rodgers would mind any of all that, actually, I think he wants to hug him even more now.

We actually need a small game player. We can and often do beat the big team teams, but struggle the next week against someone we should easily beat. How is he in those games?

Manchester City have been put on alert after Danish wonderkid Christian Eriksen admitted he is looking to leave Dutch giants Ajax.
The 21-year-old Danish attacking midfielder's contract is set to expire at the end of next season and it is believed Ajax will cash in on their higly-rated youngster this summer.
Eriksen has spent his entire career at the Amsterdam club but after four years believes the time maybe right to move on.

'If I could play for clubs like Manchester City and PSG – why not? For me it is important that I have a good feeling at the club,' Eriksen told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

Caughtoffside are claiming we've agreed a fee with Ajax for Eriksen.
I know they're more offside than onside with their information, but still...

Some places reckon we're gonna get Eriksen and the defender for £20m + Assaidi, id take that!

GERUCHT: als Liverpool naast Christian Eriksen ook Toby Alderweireld wil contracteren, wil Ajax 20 miljoen euro én Assaidi. #AJAX

That's what we used to do.
This season we've hardly beaten any top side and battered plenty of shite ones.

It does seem too cheap for Ajax. Strange that they have let them get to the final year of contract though. Daley Blind is in the same position.

(edit- Daley Blind seems to be out of contract THIS season. Would be a good signing for free at LB)

Of course as a free transfer it would be risk free but I am not sold on Blind yet to be honest.

He has had a great Season so far but there's question marks over his top potential for me.

He's working hard, makes himself available and is difficult to leave stranded however he is limited technically imo and he's no that fast either. I don't think he'd be an upgrade on Enrique and I doubt it would be good for him and us to come to Liverpool at his age and not play too much. I could be wrong of course.

I'd imagine that the talk big CL games and come and get me pleas to Man city and PSG just might maybe count us out of the picture... perhaps...

How's their other left back, boileson (sp?) getting on? I think it was you hyping him up last year

Blind is apperantly about to sign a new contract. He'd be a great pick up.

Alderweierld and Eriksen would be amazing.

Good question mate. He's been injured for the best part of almost one and a half year now. Gutted for him but he has left the space open for Blind on their left, and he's certainly taken his chance. One mans loss...

Boilesen is still massively rated by everyone around Ajax, and they have wrapped him in cottonwool after he broke the second time around Christmas, but is to believed to get his 'comeback' this Season.

He needs another Season under his belt now to get back to the right path, I fear however that some of his quality, explosive pace, has taken a blow (Owen style) because of all the injuries. Still very young so there's time should he leave the injuries behind him.

What will be interesting is to see is whether he'll keep his spot when Boilesen is back. I doubt it. But perhaps Boilesen could be used further upfield to accommodate them both.

Blind has been starting a few games for Holland and has been very good for Ajax. I think he'll continue at left back mate

Fischer is good enough now for the step up. He is going to be class.
It's hard to fathom he's just turned 18.

I don't think he's in a hurry to get out of Ajax at this stage though, and rightfully so imo, but if he manages to improve again next Season, build on what he's already shown, then there's no chance Ajax can keep the biggest clubs at bay for another Season.

Radio 1 Netherlands maintains #LFC as clear favourites for C. Eriksen. Says project + playing with Gerrard, Suarez, Agger, are pivotal.

Ajax press manager Eefje Schep: "At this time there is no agreement between Ajax and Liverpool." #LFC #AJAX
Eefje Schep:"We will send out a press release when there is an agreement[for Eriksen]. Also if there is only a deal between Ajax & the club"

Wonder what the Ryan-o-meter says about this one.

Perhaps it has self-destruct out of sheer apathy?

Kris - he better turn out to be great, or I'm going to remove your 'Super Scout' credentials @ SCM.
Even if he turn out to be shit KHL will constantly tell us how great he is and point out how shit the others players that play in his position are.
🙂😉
