Agree completely.I hope not. No offense to Eriksen but Suarez carries the side and is capable of so much more, I wouldn't want to be too heavily reliant on Sturridge, he's still got ALOT to learn.
Personally very impressed by Schöne this Season as well. Looks more and more like the type of player we want Allen to be in our team I reckon.
Hard working, industrious, spraying lots of good passes and scores goals too.
What's your take on him mate?
PS Don't think he's one for Liverpool mind, Allen's got greater potential I believe so no need to swap there.
I'm not underestimating his ability, but there's no doubt he's lightweight. I've seen him a few times this season and he gets shoved off the ball very easily. I'm not Hendersons biggest fan by far, but he covers more ground than lucas and gerrard and is quite well built physically.I think it would have won us the game, also I think you're underestimating just how good Eriksen is.
Suarez is a forward. Eriksen is not.
Why would you replace one with the other?
True but Suarez doesnt play in the position of a traditional forward roaming wherever he needs to get space and Eriksen is not really a midfielder he plays further forward with the same freedom to roam between the lines. Its not that they both couldnt play in the same team, but they couldnt really play in our team, not as it currently stands.
Eriksen's recruitment will be of concern to Suso. That will be the death of his Liverpool career.
To be honest, I thought Coutinho was that.
Chances are we won't have that much money to spend in the summer seeing as how we won't even be in europe. So spending money on Eriksen would just be plain stupid IMO unless we're selling suarez. If suarez is staying then i can see him going back in for Ince and selling downing, but apart from that the rest of the budget should be spent of fixing our defensive issues. Even then i hope rodgers realises that his open football doesn't work and he works on restructuring his ideas.Surely the fact that we signed Coutinho means we are unlikely to be looking at a player in Eriksens position this summer, its more reasonable to assume we will need to recruit a genuine wide player for the right hand side as we dont really have any of those. Sterling is too young to play a full season and Assaidi seems to be persona non grata
It would be odd to spend 8 million on Countinho only to go out and spend 3 times that in the summer on a similar player
Well, assuming we get Eriksen:
... it should be the cue for Suso to try and emulate Coutinho's success on the opposite flank. Right forward might not be his best / favoured position but that's where he's been getting his chances, and Coutinho has shown that he has a lot of freedom to roam inwards as and when required. If Eriksen arrives, then the competition at the AM / support striker spot will be too stiff for Suso, with our options in Eriksen, Suarez and Coutinho; and then there's peers in Henderson and Shelvey who could have a claim on the spot as well.
The best thing for Suso in the immediate term, short of going out for a season-long loan in his preferred position, would be to push hard and place himself in front of Downing on the right. Even then, he'll probably still be second choice if all four of Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Eriksen are fit, but at least that's a lot better than the queue in the middle.
