Eriksen, an insight from a Dane, Jan Molby

I hope not. No offense to Eriksen but Suarez carries the side and is capable of so much more, I wouldn't want to be too heavily reliant on Sturridge, he's still got ALOT to learn.

Agree completely.

Suarez is a world class forward and despite Eriksen's talent he's not yet a world class playmaker why a direct swap between these two different types of footballers would peg us a back a notch. Or two.

I believe it's completely unthinkable that we would even think of swapping Eriksen with Suarez actually, and if we indeed were to sell Suarez anyways we'd be in the market for a new top forward.

Personally very impressed by Schöne this Season as well. Looks more and more like the type of player we want Allen to be in our team I reckon.

Hard working, industrious, spraying lots of good passes and scores goals too.

What's your take on him mate?

PS Don't think he's one for Liverpool mind, Allen's got greater potential I believe so no need to swap there.

I bet you have seen him more than me since he plays in the same team as Eriksen . He does look very good from what I have seen and that is a good description of him . Ajax have a lot of good players at the moment but they seem willing to let them go because they have a load of youth players coming through as well .
I do not get why people think Eriksen would be a replacement for Suarez . Different players . Different positions .

PS If we are even thinking about wanting to get back to the top of the Premiership the last thing we should do is sell Suarez.

Not saying he's the only one who could get us there in time but we really need to build on what great players we've got instead of constantly looking for new solutions. I know Suarez could force us into a sale but I doubt it this coming Season at least.

So, Suarez stays, Eriksen plus a new top class DM and a new top class CB arrives.

I think it would have won us the game, also I think you're underestimating just how good Eriksen is.
I'm not underestimating his ability, but there's no doubt he's lightweight. I've seen him a few times this season and he gets shoved off the ball very easily. I'm not Hendersons biggest fan by far, but he covers more ground than lucas and gerrard and is quite well built physically.

Suarez is a forward. Eriksen is not.

Why would you replace one with the other?

True but Suarez doesnt play in the position of a traditional forward roaming wherever he needs to get space and Eriksen is not really a midfielder he plays further forward with the same freedom to roam between the lines. Its not that they both couldnt play in the same team, but they couldnt really play in our team, not as it currently stands.

Sometimes a player is good enough to warrant ripping up the script and rebuilding your team around, we would need to do that for Eriksen, but Im not convinced hes worth doing that for.

I don't know about that. It's not like Suarez plays a traditional deep lying forward role or #10 as we seeing him popping up all over the place - often on the wing.

The true question is as you point out - is Eriksen good enough to gamble on?

They can both play together if he is.

Eriksen's recruitment will be of concern to Suso. That will be the death of his Liverpool career.

Well, assuming we get Eriksen:

... it should be the cue for Suso to try and emulate Coutinho's success on the opposite flank. Right forward might not be his best / favoured position but that's where he's been getting his chances, and Coutinho has shown that he has a lot of freedom to roam inwards as and when required. If Eriksen arrives, then the competition at the AM / support striker spot will be too stiff for Suso, with our options in Eriksen, Suarez and Coutinho; and then there's peers in Henderson and Shelvey who could have a claim on the spot as well.

The best thing for Suso in the immediate term, short of going out for a season-long loan in his preferred position, would be to push hard and place himself in front of Downing on the right. Even then, he'll probably still be second choice if all four of Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Eriksen are fit, but at least that's a lot better than the queue in the middle.

To be honest, I thought Coutinho was that.

Surely the fact that we signed Coutinho means we are unlikely to be looking at a player in Eriksens position this summer, its more reasonable to assume we will need to recruit a genuine wide player for the right hand side as we dont really have any of those. Sterling is too young to play a full season and Assaidi seems to be persona non grata

It would be odd to spend 8 million on Countinho only to go out and spend 3 times that in the summer on a similar player

Chances are we won't have that much money to spend in the summer seeing as how we won't even be in europe. So spending money on Eriksen would just be plain stupid IMO unless we're selling suarez. If suarez is staying then i can see him going back in for Ince and selling downing, but apart from that the rest of the budget should be spent of fixing our defensive issues. Even then i hope rodgers realises that his open football doesn't work and he works on restructuring his ideas.

This would mean Henderson will end up having to cover three different positions each game. Not to mention what would happen if both Coutinho and Suso move inside at the same time, in which case Henderson gets fucked whatever he does. I hate the cunt as much as the next guy, but he should at the very least be given some small hope of not getting fucked before you fuck him.

Great goal again today . Massive game against PSV he got it on the left ran in and scored a great one .

I watched it in a packed bar and did not really notice Alderweireld to be honest . Great game though . Fischer is class and Eriksen took a big clash of heads that he shook off as nothing.

Didn't notice him either but he has been good all season. If he ends up half as good as his dad he will be boss. Siem de Jong looks a player as well.

No idea why it won't embed, seems Dailymotion have disabled this function?
