England vs India

Maybe they distracted themselves with that cringeworthy legal campaign against Anderson

Ha ha - as Dhoni instigated the whole thing and refused to back down despite pressure from the Indian management maybe there is some truth that he was so incensed by Anderson calling him " a fucking fat cunt " he let it get to him.

I like it though when players put a bit more invention into it, like the time an Aussie fast bowler (I forget which) asked Zimbabwe's Eddo Brandes "Why are you so b****y fat?" and Brandes replied " 'Coz every time I f'ck your wife she gives me a biscuit".

That is a classic. My favourite was the one directed at one of the Waugh brothers (bit before my time so not sure which one!) of "At least I'm the best cricketer in my family"

Or the classic "Mind the windows Tino" 😀

2 - 1 down in the series, team in disarray, and Dhoni skips training for a private shooting session the day before the eve of the test. You couldn't make it up, the guy earns $32mil plus doesn't look like he really gives a flying fuck does it !!

The Jimmy Ormond/Steve Waugh is classic...

Waugh - “Mate, what are you doing out here? There's no way you're good enough to play for England.”
Ormond - “Maybe not, but at least I'm the best player in my own family.”

Thought the Sarwan and McGrath was a good one as well, McGrath asked for that even though Sarwan apparently didn't know about his wife.

I think that was Mark Waugh mate.

Agreed but every time Stuart Broad bowls my face feels sore. His face is a mess. I really think he should have missed this test and given someone else a go - Steven Finn would have been my choice.

Crikey - India 28-4 already! Another capitulation by the Indian batsmen would be a bit disappointing.

After how they started, they have shown zero appetite for fight.....very poor. I couldn't even watch through my fingers and turned the tele off a long time ago.

Well Dohni has done well. 57 not out and playing nicely. 117-9.

That's the thing...out of all the Indian batsmen he has the worst technique to play in England. Even Ashwin and Bhuvnesh have better technique.

If he can survive, it clears shows that the others have thrown in the towel after lords, and that is a crying shame, as the series was still very much alive coming in to the last test. They had everything to play for.

There is no way the bowling has been unplayable or the conditions unbeatable.

Drop from Bell becoming costly now.. good resistance but still a poor score.

I think Ishant and Kumar will also do well on this wicket but once Binny comes into the fray we can have some fun!

What a shambles India were at the end. Incredible. It was hard enough for their bowlers to avoid no balls. I don't think I've seen a side just give up like that. Well done to Cook, though, that's a good fight back by him.

God only knows we have had a few collapses ourselves but India's capitulation is just utterly pathetic. 29 overs ffs, 20 wickets in a days cricket!

On the plus side we appear to have a decent side emerging, bring in Hales for Robson and Finn for Woakes / Jordan and we may be able to compete in the Ashes next year.

It was a shocking and frankly shameful capitulation. Millions upon millions of good cricket going Indians are probably absolutely disgusted by that. If the boot was on the other foot I'd be expecting mass sackings immediately.

Well done to England though - A nice comeback and a bit of a 'fuck you' to the baying media twats after Lords.
