Whenever I've seen him, he looked underwhelming but I've only seen him in glimpses. However, it seems his stats for the reserves looks like he is a really promising talent, with 12 goals and 6 assists in 18 appearances.
For those that have seen him more, could he beak it into the first team?

He's got a bit of the Gerrard determination in my opinion, which gives him a real chance.

Trent has it.

Suso didn't.

Yes he’s a superb talent. He’s been a stand out for years at underage and now reserves.

Jones is more carrack than gerrard

I'm not too good at projecting young players – but he strikes me as an exceptionally versatile young player, maybe not Gerrard, but becoming someone like Havertz as best-case scenario, or maybe Milner. I'm excited to see how he develops.

[article]Swansea City have made enquiries about the possibility of taking Curtis Jones on loan from Liverpool, according to reports.

Steve Cooper could well strengthen his squad in the January transfer window, although given the club's financial situation, he is likely to rely on the loan market after Trevor Birch admitted the club must operate on a sell-to-buy basis.

They have been heavily linked with the Reds' young striker Rhian Brewster.

And Goal reporter Neil Jones claims Swansea have also asked Jurgen Klopp's side about midfielder Jones ahead of the upcoming window.

"Told it's unlikely that Rhian Brewster will be loaned to Salzburg in January. Championship most likely for him." he wrote on Twitter.

"Curtis Jones another who will go out, providing the fit is right. Swansea among those to have asked about both."

Cooper previously worked in Liverpool's youth system and will hope his relationship with the Anfield outfit can persuade Klopp that Swansea are the right club for players to develop.

And Jones could be the man to solve what's been something of a problem position for the Swans, albeit only temporarily.

Matt Grimes is the only outfield player to have played every single minute of league action for the Swans this season.

The captain has had multiple partners alongside him in the centre of midfield, including Jay Fulton, George Byers and Tom Carroll.

Swansea desperately need more goals from those behind the front four, with Byers - who has also been deployed as a No. 10 - being the only central midfielder to net more than once under Cooper this season.

And in Jones, they could find themselves someone who delivers on that front, with the 18-year-old being highly regarded by those on Merseyside.

Jones - who has played for England at every age grade up to Under-19 level - made his first team debut for Liverpool in their 2-1 FA Cup third round defeat to Wolves in January.

He has made three appearances under Klopp this term, the most recent of which saw him feature in the Premier League for the first time against Bournemouth.

Jones is described as a "versatile and talented midfield player with an eye for a pass and ability to score goals" on Liverpool's official website.

Swansea currently have four loan players in their ranks, with Cooper wary of adding to that tally given that he can only select five loan men in any given matchday squad.[/article]

[article]Warnock recalled being in awe of Jones when he watched him play for Gerrard's side at St George's Park.

"I remember coming off the pitch and saying to Steven, 'who's the number 10?' Because he just glides past players, making it look so effortless, so easy," Warnock told Sky Sports News.

"Steven turned around and said Jones has everything to become a top player. If his attitude is right, he'll make it to the top.

"That's coming from someone like Steven. Jones is maturing and is under the right manager who is giving him trust to go out and express himself, to play the way he wants."[/article]

Looked really good whenever I've seen him play. Which is about 3 or 4 times but still. Shit hair tho

Still waiting for someone to come up with a song to finish

La,la la,la,la la
Curtis Jones and me

I made a bit of a show of myself in the match thread. He played well, and technically has always been good whenever I've seen him, but I don't know. Has to keep his feet on the ground, work hard, improve in lots of other areas of his game. He seems like a bit of a twat too, which could go one of two ways. I haven't been wowed by him the same way I have been with Elliot, though. I just don't know if he'll be a top tier player. We'll see.

1.We noticed 😉 man enough to admit it though 🙂
2. Yes I agree, confident or full of himself?? hopefully confident and he goes on to prove himself.

I think he's going enough to be on the first team, but chances will be limited as we are deep in midfield.

What helps him is his versatility – he can pretty much play all front 6 positions. I think he scored the goal when he played for 5 minutes as the CF after Minamino was substituted (after the goal him and Origi switched). He even played full-back for us. He's almost the younger version of Milner in that respect.

Haven't seen @Halmeister in the match thread but I was also largely unimpressed with him before the goal - he did the odd trick that impressed the commentators but wasn't very effective and rarely broke through the lines he was attacking. Long way to go but I still don't quite get him as a player - is he a quick tricky wide forward or is he a CM/AM who likes to burst forward? I've seen him try both with varying levels of success..

Yes, it wasn't hie best game before the goal, but afterwards, with that injection of swagger (that seems to be the lifeblood of his game), he was absolutely in control of things. He really showed what sort of player he is. I see him very much as being able to occupy any of the midfield positions, but probably most often in that spot he was in yesterday. Gini's spot.

He was neat and tidy and had one lovely turn with a poor shot. He just looks to always have a yard of space which is always a huge indicator of talent for me. In a Derby that’s even more impressive regardless of how shit Everton were.
