A lot of people at the club says he's a confident chap so he just needs to keep performing like he has done at U23/youth level and carry that into his game
when playing for the first team.

He's obviously far too good to be playing at u23 level so now he needs to either be integrated with first team or seek a loan.

I get the impression he's a complete cunt. Then again maybe that just speaks to my experience of super confident jocks.. i.e. repeated pummelings.

He is a bit of a cunt though...

Turn the volume up...you can actually hear what he says

Good lad. Captain isn't he? The little fucker must have needed telling and it's good that an 18 year old doesn't mind doing it

Probably, but it seemed like Elliott was the designated PK taker and Jones took it from him. Hence the complaints from Elliott.

Wayne Rooney walked into Moyes office & literally demanded to play at the age of 16 cos he could see how much better he was than everyone else & had that belief.

Jones obv can't exactly demand like that cos he isn't better than the first team players, but he has that same belief, & I'm fucked if I'm gonna slag him off for it, cos the players that make it to the highest level need that in spades, even if it doesn't make them appear cocky as fuck, he's been asking klopp to play him in the first side all season.

* Knock on the door*

U23 player: "Gaffa, I demand a spot in the first team!"
Klopp: * Silence *

I made a bit of a show of myself in the match thread. He played well, and technically has always been good whenever I've seen him, but I don't know. Has to keep his feet on the ground, work hard, improve in lots of other areas of his game. He seems like a bit of a twat too, which could go one of two ways. I haven't been wowed by him the same way I have been with Elliot, though. I just don't know if he'll be a top tier player. We'll see.
Yeh I think he comes across as a bit of a bell.
Not that that is always a negative for a top athlete, but staying grounded seems to be a better way forward in general.

Fiorentina are in a huge mess, they always seem to have a good season like finishing 6th followed by a terrible season like where they are now.

Just had a quick nosey and see that Bobby has not been included in the last two Fiorentina U19 games after slipping to a sub place in the game before.

And that’s the difference. Curtis Jones so far has delivered the goods to back up his big mouth. Bobby Duncan didn’t and also apparently wanted more money or something. Klopp has no problem with confident players, but you have to back it up.

I really like this player, I think it was last season I remember him playing in that away FA Cup game to Wolves where we lost, but he was very active on the left. Will save us loads of money - think he will develop much further under Klopp, seems to have the talent.

I don't know about Jones. He doesn't seem particularly good at anything. Usually for a 18 yo to break out he needs to have *something*, but I just don't see it. Maybe it's just too early.

"He doesn't seem particularly good at anything."

Setting aside the curling one in to knock Everton out thing that may have slipped your mind... what he's good at is football. "Not particularly good at anything" but with technical ability, huge engine, and discipline, describes a Klopp midfielder. Add the fact that he currently plays in a more advanced role and scores goals, and you've got something worth exploring.

But, in this particular game, I was most impressed by his attitude. He seemed to understand exactly what he had to do in that match, i.e. provide leadership on the pitch. He wasn't trying to be showy, or make a headline, he showed a huge engine, good strength, and protected the left back a lot with exhausting tracking back, so that he was rarely exposed. He even did better with the PR shit at the end of the game.

The commentator on my Egyptian stream last night called him: Kotis Hoones. I think that might be his new nickname.

He is one of the most Scouse people I have ever seen, which is a good 'something'

But I suppose we will only know if/ when he plays more games for us.

That's the most banal thing I've typed for a while, sorry

I think he was trying to do too much at times yesterday when there were players around him that he should have been aware of. I think he has many strings to his bow, and I know it's partly that he wants to be brave and take on responsibility (exacerbated no doubt by having the captaincy), but he will need to learn that sometimes less is more. I've seen this same trait in his play for the U23s. Don't get me wrong, this same trait will allow him to have extraordinary moments like the goal against Everton, but I'd like him to trust his companions more and not feel that he needs to be at the centre of everything.

I just don't see it. He is nowhere near the level of any of our midfielders. The closest thing I see him becoming is Andreas Pereira unfortunately. One paced, runs around alot, committed, neat and tidy but lacking in creativity, lacking in defensive strength, basically a decent player in a mid table team.

This isn't the Mo Salah thread 😉

I agree, he played like douche yesterday. Nice tricks here and there but didn't trust his teammates, held on to the ball for too long and slowed us down at times. Quite the diva imo.
Hudson-Odoi is where the bar is imo and Jones isn't even close atm.
