Chelsea are 1 point above the relegation zone

I'd love to see Rodgers there.

I heard last month that he was on the short-list if the situation got out of hand. I think it's a good call, but the real beauty of the situation is that the managers that they may want are either committed now or were previous employees that may not want to come back. You seem Mr. Billionaire - that is the problem of hiring and firing all the best managers in the world - eventually you run out of them. You have got to love the situation.

Yeah, but just suppose he's given another shedload of cash to spend, gets lucky, and actually wins something?
Unbearable. Although I suppose winning something is less likely with Rodgers than someone like Simeone.

Anyway, if it's just on a temporary, half a season basis due to Mourinho getting sacked before the end of the season, that would be ace on all sorts of levels.

Mourinho went back and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ancelotti didn't return at some point. Money talks.

Rodgers - amazingly - has been tipped off he's got a really, really, good chance of taking over as England manager after the Euros, and apparently he fancies that more.

Is it true that Jose - in his contract has a clause that if he is to be dismissed - he would get a payout in the region of £18M ? - maybe that is also the reason why the owner is persisting with him.

It's not really amazing. The current England manager is Roy Hodgson.

I don't think Abramovich has wanted to persist with him for quite a while. Marina Granovskaia is the only ally Mourinho has/had. If it hadn't been for her, he would have gone after the game against us.

I'm kinda in two minds on it.

I think this season looks like Chelsea reaping what they sowed - they rotated so little in the last few years that a lot of the players have just worn down. Transfers not paying off etc.

It might just be a one off season where all sorts of little things have added up to a mess. If players rebound - i'd expect Costa, Hazard, Matic and some others to do so - Chelsea are already much better and all it takes is a couple of good defenders and they're back. And then Rodgers looks good .

But on the other hand I like the thought of quoting the cunt 30m when he comes looking for his Rolls Royce

I think Costa wants to leave regardless of who is manager. Hazard too. Which is part of the problem.

It would be just super seeing Rodgers in at Xmas on a short-term contract though, but I wonder - I know he has an astounding ego and almost mindbending lack of perspective - would even Brendan "I had the last laugh" Rodgers have big enough balls to sign Joe Allen (again) for Chelsea? It would smash what little credibility he had left.

I thought Allen was a totally shit signing for Liverpool, and was one of many things he did that made me simply not trust him, but Chelsea? They'd go fucking mental; it would be like Benitez arriving and bringing fucking Lucas with him.

That's like 0.0001% of his wealth. I doubt he cares.

So there's no chance Chelsea would appoint the dream team of Rafa and Rodgers as joint head coaches and bring that tandem with them ?

Ha ha. Can people remember that classic moment on MOTD when Ranieri spoke excitedly in Italian for about two minutes, and then Staker, sweating profusely, merely said, 'Um, er, he said 'It was a game of two halves'"? It was the moment the club realised the buffoon had no idea at all what the boss was saying. I wish it was on YouTube.
Yes! I remember that. It was so bizarre that I thought I'd dreamt it till you mentioned it. I remember trying to find it on YouTube a few years back, but it's somehow not there.

I think they could easily win their next 2 matches (Sunderland & Watford) and then go to OT and win (hopefully). Away at Palace would then be tricky but a London derby and Palace are better away than at home. I can still see Chelsea going on a good run .. if they get 3-4 wins out of that schedule their confidence will be back. Still going to get twatted by PSG mind.

I googled his name to see if that video popped up somewhere else, and according to LinkedIn he's the Chelsea manager.

Gary Staker
TEAM MANAGER at Chelsea Football Club

Not sure that's really his profile, though.

Ramos?

Wow. He's one of the last men I'd pick to manage a side one point above the relegation zone.

Not as good as Mourinho staying, but that's still boss.

Not entirely sure about "easily", but substantially this.

He's gone.

Rodgers has been brought in till the end of the season to steady the ship..

Don't shoot the messenger..
