So the tactical genius spent 3 seasons and 200 m pounds on finding two players good enough to finish one of the most important games we have..... Fantastic...
Thought we were the better team, we bossed it at times but decisively we were very poor. Sterling, Coutinho, Can, Ibe all showing their inexperience when in good positions. Good performances from Skrtel and Lovren, Ming did ok, Johnson too bar his standard hairy moment. I don't think Sinclair touched the ball but it's a good experience for him to come on into a big game like that.
Think we just watched what's great and poor about us, effective and attractive build up play, that's blunted by poor decisions with the final ball and the lack of a clinical finisher.

We just drew with Chelsea, it wasn't the greatest performance but it wasn't bad either, considering Mourinho has lost like one home game ever. Bit stupid to prefix your point with "tactical genius" when we just performed well against the Champions. And incase you didn't notice, six of the first team were his players and he had the balls to bring on two kids.

We were no way the better team. Chelsea were solid at the back (bar our goal) and had confidence when attacking but blunt as a strike force so a draw was probably the right result.
I thought it was a pretty entertaining game with decent chances for both sides. Until Matic came on for them, it looked like we actually could get a second goal. Sinclair nary got a touch but hopefully he's experienced first hand now what playing against a top class league defender is like.
The one good thing that came out of this result is that the Chinese torture is over, so hopefully Rodgers can start more of the U21s and new guys like Manquillo and Markovic for the last two games, as well as give Can a couple of games in midfield.

The game didnt matter for a half arsed Chelski. And if you spent 200 mill pounds you shpuld not have to rely on kids grtting you champions league. That is a Mans game!
I thought he tried hard and played well this game, a marked improvement over his other more recent games. Lad got kicked all shades of blue today and kept attacking. I've been critical of him of late, but I find it hard to pull him out for his effort today. Decision-making in the final third still needs work though.

Had to laugh when at the start of the match he was saying how Chelsea were 'bang at it' and then changed tack late in the second half when we were pressing and said some of their players 'might have been on the beach'. Which was it?
He just couldn't bring himself to say we were bossing the game. Another one with a grudge from all those years we were boss.
We hardly ever beat top 4 teams under Rodgers. I think his record against the top 4 teams is something like 5 in 30 attempts. Maybe our poor performances in Europe and cups is not because Rodgers is shit in Europe. Maybe he is shit against teams with decent players and tactics.
He didn't rely on kids to get him Champions League, Ibe has been performing well and deserved a go, it was a brave decision to play Sinclair.
Whatever anyway, you've clearly never been happy unless you're having a pop at him, so the result is irrelevant anyway, because whatever the outcome he'll always be either in the wrong or lucky in some way. Or as in todays case, "Chelsea didn't turn up". Change the record.
This is because we often play well but don't have a cutting edge. Selling Luis Suarez was a huge mistake and not one of BR's.
