I've been studying the British legal system very closely over the past few years, and I've come to the conclusion that the only thing that will unfailingly clinch a conviction is a picture of the accused in the same room as Jimmy Savile at some point during the past five decades. So I'm sure all that needs to be done here is a quick bit of photoshop, an image of Blatter with Bernie Clifton and The Dooleys on an episode of Clunk Click and he's toast.

I want them to absolutely fucking nail both Blatter and Platini. Blatter has been a large part of the decline in footballing standards with his refusal to join the modern age whilst keeping his cronies in jobs .. quite apart from his alleged (though I'm certain it'll soon be proven) corruption. Platini is just a dumb twat and hopefully they can drop both their career's in the Mariana Trench.
I heard FIFA moved a proposed Board Meeting from Tokyo to Switzerland as Switzerland doesn't have a deal With USA for extention of criminals. Blatter will shortly be cpompanied by Platini in Switzerland I Guess!
Blatter is one problem. But another problem is that he was the perfect president of this FIFA the way it's currently structured. The system of one country-one vote (where Barbados or Cook Islands have exactly the same voting power as Germany or Brazil) breeds corruption since, let's be honest, most of the countries outside of Western Europe and North America have deeply corrupt government systems and in addition most are so poor that they can be bought for peanuts. Then you have the petro-states, including Russia, who are usually the ones doing the buying and the bribing. Blatter figured it all out and ruled it like an African dictator, trading favors and suppressing dissent, all the while presenting a rather convincing external appearance of just a boring European bureaucrat. Maybe we can remove Blatter, but unless this system is fundamentally changed, the next president will likely do the exact same shenanigans, maybe just not as effectively as old Sepp.
The natural solution to all this would be to somehow overturn the one country-one vote system and replace it with a system that gives bigger football markets more say in how things are run. Unfortunately, that seems utterly impossible as it's a non-starter for all the smaller countries that benefit from the current system. And since inevitably this will give more power to the European countries it would be an easy target to accusations of "neo-colonialism" or "European arrogance" – I doubt the European countries would even dare to bring this up for fear of such accusations. And there we are. Right now the system Blatter built seems very stable and immune to any real reform.

Well the math is wrong, but regardless, it's all about the Benjamin's.
It actually is, effort isn't. Thought people would understand the gist of it. Clearly not.
Because it's more complex than that. Some countries have to build a load of stadia that then are mothballed after the world cup, at the expense of pumping money into often poorly-functioning economies. It would be fine if they then made a profit, but Fifa make the profit, even with their $6 billion surplus or whatever.
I think the world cup should be rotated, but a lot more consideration should be given as to whether the country can actually afford to run the tournament. The country involved should be able to profit from it as well.

Yeah that's true. But there has to be some sort of rotation to eliminate the whole bribe/marketing thing.
Anyway, I wonder how many countries in the world would be able to host the world cup with one month notice? Basically which countries already have the infrastructure in place.
Europe: Germany, England, France, Spain, Italy.
Joint bid: Basically every country in Europe.
South America: Brazil, Argentina?
Africa: South Africa maybe and no one else?
Oceania: Australia
Asia: China
Joint bid: Japan, South Korea, Some of the gulf states.
North America: USA, Mexico and probably Canada.

If Fifa want the world cup to travel around the place - which isn't a bad idea - then two things have to happen - one, they have to subsidise the infrastructure development that has to take place, and two, there has to be a financial incentive for the country than runs it.

Yeah, that's true. I was going by continents and not by world cup places this time. Should be more consistent.
