Blackburn Away. Post Match Thread

Most of kenny's post match interviews post Christmas have been highly embarrassing. Why does he almost feel the need to pick a fight with the interviewer? I love the man but it has become very tedious.

Yeah, he comes across as a paranoid wreck and it's not nice to see.

Needs to chill the fuck out tbh.

Who gives a fuck? He treats the media with the disdain they deserve. They're quick enough to stick the knife in but want to be all pally when face to face.

Have to agree. He's overly defensive all the time. It seems to have been an unfortunate after effect of the Suarez debacle.

I hate everything about those interviews and I've been avoiding them, but I saw that tonight. I mean what the fuck kind of question did the guy lead with - not that it's ever any different. Paraphrased 'Were you delighted with the way that your team dug in and showed character and fought and came back and ended up winning that match?' I mean that is a closed fucking question. Why not just ask him what he thought? And then Dalglish starts chewing his tongue and acting like a kid with ADD. The interviewer ends up in that situation like when you've asked someone for directions and it turns out they're the village idiot and they're probably going to try and stab you or lick you or something weird and the whole thing ends up a farce.

the questions they ask are stupid. if they asked (for example) 'what did you make of the performance?' then there is no room for kenny to snap their heads off. you ask him 'did you deserve to win/lose (or some other rubbish question) then they deserve everything they get. he's paid to manage liverpool, not make friends.

It's just too defensive, nearly all the time. I don't like the media, especially the sports journalists, but every interview is an opportunity for Kenny to show confidence and belief in the team, whereas he barely answers any questions. Why wouldn't he say anything about the red card? I don't believe that he didn't see it. It's not Wenger were talking about here. Every interview just gives the press more ammunition to fire at us.

Yeah but if you're a cock to them then you need to back it up with results which we weren't doing so they were loving being able to put the boot in . And you can say "so what" but negative media does create pressure on the club and team . If people say it enough then others will believe it . You have to be able to control them or like i said back it up with results .

Fuck the press. Why should we pander to their needs when all they want to do is fuck us over.

Imagine Shankly's response to them if he were about in this day and age. He'd make Kenny look like a pussy cat. Fuck the media. They're a joke and deserve to be treated like the imbeciles they are.

Well acting like a kid when asked a question doesn't help. Kenny isn't immune to negative comments by supporters just because of his club status. RedZep has it pretty much right.

Quite the opposite. It should create a siege mentality, a fuck you. Isn't that something The Club and city has thrived upon in the past?

I like the idea of Dalglish taking the piss out of a shit media machine, but it doesn't come across that way. He's too bitter towards them. If he rose above and talked down to them that would be ace, that's what he did when he first came back, but now he looks petty.

Did anyone notice Skrtel (playfully) smacking Shelvey in the ear after the (second????) goal I think it was? Shelvey's face was priceless.

And was that shite a red card for Doni.
Don't think the ref had much choice to be honest.

Or if you meant it in a "how unlucky was Doni" kind of way, then yeah, I agree. I really felt sorry for the lad. I honestly can't see what else he could've done.

Isn't that when you need a siege mentality, when things are going against you?

well again to repeat myself ...yeah perhaps but if you are not getting results then it's not working and maybe , just maybe you might think "hmm this isn't working , maybe i try something else to see if that works "

anyway this is boring me .

No. It wasn't a red. He took it sideways towards our two covering centre backs.

He was through on goal, only the keeper to beat and he fouled him. I would have thought that's an automatic red, regardless of where he was going.
