Post Match Spurs (A) 3-6 22nd Dec

Nah not a chance. Diaz did great work in nullifying Bissouma by coming in and marking him out of the game at times. Plus two excellent finishes whereas Szobo fucked up two he should have scored.
Diaz also fucked up one

Great that we battered them but conceding those goals was worrying. Still, great weekend of results again

We gifted them their goals, they didn't really work for them or cut us apart. An open game like that, which it was always going to be, will have plenty of errors.

It's christmas and clearly we were in the giving mood.

Although I have no right to be annoyed I am. Conceding three goals in the manner we did was a lesson in how not to close out a game. Complacency 101.

That said we could have scored another two or three goals and they would not have looked out of place.

Missed the game live and just finished watching the replay. I already heard some reactions to the game before watching, but nothing could prepare me for the level of utter domination we had in the first 40 minutes and at the beginning of the 2nd half. This was very much Klopp style maximum speed and effort, pressing every ball and trying to kill the opponent with every forward pass. I think Salah alone had 5 shots in the first 20 minutes! It was like a boxing match with one fighter peppering another with hits until he goes limp on the ropes (and Spurs got limp really quickly).

Probably the most spectacular we’ve played all season and every player deserves praise. Great to see Lucho score again - it’s possible that the formation with two #10’s, like Szoboszlai and Lucho, will become our go to tactic for the rest of the season, at least in the big games. Speaking of Szoboszlai, I thought he was magnificent and my MOTM - finally fully back to his best. All 3 midfielders were superb, Salah is just class and Trent finally remembered how to pass (to be fair, Spurs gave him the most space both from which to pass and where to pass he’s had all season). Also have to praise Robbo who came back strong after an awful week that had many starting to doubt him. I’m not bothered about the goals we conceded at all, but the players and Slot will be annoyed and that’s a good thing.

Finally just on a side note I have to say, usually I watch with American commentary, but this recording I found happened to be Sky - fucking hell, Gary Neville is indeed awful at this. Just blabbering about irrelevant details all game, not in tune with the flow of the game at all - now I understand why everyone is complaining. Might have to rewatch with proper commentary later on because he kind of spoiled the experience.
