Post Match Leicester (H) 3-1 Boxing Day 20:00

We wouldn’t have conceded that goal had we been playing Ibu and Bradders. Our shape would’ve stopped it plus the ability of those players.

That then invited them to sit deeper and waste an atrocious amount of time.

Really? I thought Robbo was one of our best today, full of urgency and running, hit the post, whipped in a load of crosses, overlapped and won the ball heaps.
Thought he lost his man a few times today, we got lucky Leicester were shit after the 10th minute. He wasn't alone though. Mavididi had Trent on toast. But had no support.

Jones arriving late into the box for those important goals and moments is becoming trade mark. He just needs to stay fit.

What the fuck was our corner routines about? Why are we trying to imitate Arsenal for? 14 corners and every one of them looked shit. Kostas was on for 5mins and put the only good cross from a set piece from the only attempt he had (almost led to Virg scoring).

Because we've been shit at corners this season and they want to try something new?

& did it work?

We’re not shit at corners because the routine is shit, we’re shit at corners because Virg is the only one who knows how to attack them, where to start his run, where to end up and when to time the jump.

Because it’s proven to be hands down the most effective deadball routine this season.

Practice makes perfect. It was rubbish tonight but I wouldn’t give up on it just yet.
Hopefully tonight Arne saw enough to leave that trash at the Emirates, we need more of the football we saw in the 2nd half and much less of all the desperate crossing shit. We haven’t got to where we are by being Stoke under Pulis or Utd under Moyes.

I’d be keen to see us try it without Trent on them. He was woeful on set pieces.

His cross for the only corner we’ve scored this season was woeful too, the only difference between that corner and the 14 we put in today was actually having someone like Diaz that can anticipate where the ball will end up and attack that space before any other Arsenal player could.

“Corners don’t beat the first man”

Well how about we make sure the first man is one of our players?

So keep doing what we're doing and hope that Virg or Jota finally heads one in?

If the alternative if looking like Arsenal knock offs then I’d take anything practically anything else.

I don’t care enough about corners and clearly they aren’t that important to a team like us as we have a million and 1 different ways we can score and we don’t rely on them at all, so long as we can defend them the other end.

Teams steal stuff from each other all the time. It don't think hurts to try a few things out especially in games against the lower teams like Leicester.

We don’t need to sink low to imitate other teams just because it works for them, it didn’t today over a fairly large sample size, once we ditched it and focused on playing our football, what happened?

We still didn't score from a corner?

Why are you so hellbent on us figuring a way to score more from corners? Are you really that envious of what Arsenal are doing you’d be happy to see us imitate and fail? We’re not them (thank fuck). Neither are the other 18 teams, you don’t see them trying to copy?

We don’t need to, we ditched the crossing bullshit and reverted back to playing the football that’s got us this far. That’s kinda my point.
