I haven't viewed the general forum in many years and just stumbled upon this thread which is quite shocking to me. The US has changed dramatically in recent years and not for the good. It's been a long time since TV and newspapers reported actual news rather than the propaganda and manipulation spewed out today.
It's a bit of a shock to see posters whose football knowledge/ opinions I've really valued over many years posting clips from radical sources and passing it off as factual news. I'm a bit surprised to see respected posters "played" like this. No offence intended.

The power-brokers in the Democratic Party (where *their* ultimate loyalty might lie is another question and I could only guess at the answer). Biden was a figurehead from the beginning. Even in his inauguration statement there were signs of the diminishing intellectual grip which has become more painfully clear as his time in the White House has wound down. He's been a stalking-horse for Kamala all along.

Biden was still in good condition at Midterm elections, one of the reasons Democrats did much better than expected.

JD Vance is another moronic pick but then Trump historically gets it wrong with his VP picks. He was pro crypto but a total awkward weirdo.

A few months ago, every Democrat on national tv was saying "how sharp" biden was and there was 0 push back. ... and then, one debate and he was "unfit" ... interesting how people judge opposing candidates for similar issues differently!

I agree Biden rallied at the time of the midterms, but dementia rarely worsens at a uniform rate. People just aren't that standardised.
I don't agree with the word "still" either. That suggests Biden had been in good form all the way until then, and AFAIC that's simply not accurate. Find a video of his inauguration address and have a careful look at it. There have been plenty of examples since.
It's quite possible that Trump's a stalking-horse for Vance, who's been a strong critic of Trump in the past and who's on the ticket because Peter Thiel wants him there. Whether Trump has dementia I'm not sure. He's pretty limited intellectually and may just be finding the challenge of running for President harder to keep pace with as the years go by.

Surely you can see the issue of a daughter of immigrant effectively standing next to a man who is spouting against immigration. She also publically backed him for comments about cat ladies. She knows what she is into and wouldn’t surprise me of she stands in the next election as a Gov. No sympathy for any of them.

I don't know what cat ladies are, and the immigration stance is - correct me if I'm wrong - illegal immigration, not legal immigration. I'm not sure what's the issue with that - esp considering the Democrat track record on kicking them out of the country! Next governor? It seems you're far more invested than me!
