Big D vs Twitter

For a lawyer (former prosecutor, no less) Kamala's been ineffective, or sometimes even worse, in her public appearances since taking office. This debate may not be the shoo-in for her that by rights it ought to be.

The upcoming debate will be interesting. Harris needs to fact check him on everything. She’d better be prepared.
I think she should just start every answer with the following:
"Well the convicted fellon, rapest, sex predator and lying tax fraudster next to me might think differently but......"

Actually… she doesn’t need to fact check him… she just needs to say “your lying” every time he opens his mouth, then make reference to his “small hands for small playthings” - it’s not as if he’s going to fact check himself and give supporting evidence.

There was a thing about Kier being a lawyer and former prosecutor so he'd be expected to do better debates etc.
Sunak generally did better than him at the televised debates, but was just so far behind it didn't help.

Yes. I thought Sunak outdid Smarmy at Prime Minister's Questions too but, as you say, it was never going to rescue the situation for the Tories.

Kamala absolutely skewered Trump.

He took the bait every time - and that garbage about eating cats… he just can’t help himself.

He’s lost for sure now that Tay Tay has come out in support of Kamala (and Tay Tay’s cat).

Yes, i think he lost that debate hard but Taylor’s endorsement (especially if she starts sharing how to register, how to postal vote) will see the biggest ever turnout from under 30 females.

Didn't she get a lot of hate for simply telling people to vote? I can't remember if it was her or someone else, they pretty much don't want anyone else voting.

No idea tbh. She was getting backlash apparently for not coming out immediately in support of Harris, but I read her dad has been advising her to avoid making political statements around her concerts for security reasons so kinda makes sense.

Harris was always going to win the popular vote, I guess the key is activating the Swifties in the key swing states.

It was someone who is popular among the youth of today... I'm so out of touch I can't think of anyone apart from her who's popular.

Yes, if she activates the swifties and the non-voters from earlier elections she can win.

I also think Trump needs to stop being 'trump'. He was on a podcast I listen to (The All In Podcast) and he came across pretty normal. But in recent weeks he's gone back to his identity politics and treading the line of racist comments.

It wasn’t that long ago that you couldn’t see a way that Trump could lose this election, but somehow he’s managed it and Kamala has a real chance of winning this.

It looks very much like those who love Trump and would never vote for anyone else are as fixed as those who hate him and would never vote for him.

They’re canceling each other out, with neither side having enough to win the key swing states.

It all goes down to the undecided voters.

I just don’t see anything new from Trump that’s going to convince people not sure about him - he’s like a parody of himself now - same old rhetoric, lies and plain weird nonsense.

Kamala, on the other hand, while not being anywhere near Obama level, is at least avoiding the Hilary mistakes and presenting herself as a credible and sensible choice.

I think the only undecideds now are those who aren't sure if they'll going to vote or not. I think most of the voters (if not all) already know who'll they'll vote for, and nothing will change their minds.

Didn't watch it, but seems pretty much everyone agrees Kamala got the better of him.
Inc Elon who is working on the narrative of Kamala won but Trump would be better because he'd push for various policies etc.
I'm sure they'd be pissed he didn't handle himself well at all.

Trump was all over the place. You just knew he'd lose his mind the moment his campaign crowd was brought into the conversation, and boy did he. It's not just pet cats the immigrants are eating, it's pet dogs as well 😂
He says Harris has no plans, yet when cornered about not having a plan about healthcare he claims to have a 'concept of a plan'. LOL

What do people think government actually does? They do fuck all. They're on holiday most of the year and they've got two weapons. Legislation and taxation. That's it. Nothing else. So they add more laws and they fuck about with the tax system. They don't actually sit at a computer and work at it. If the UK govt or any other govt didn't turn up for a year we'd just keep doing the do. The civil service or equivalent would keep doing whatever they got told to do the last time, before some know nothing prick meddled with it.

This is not an opinion. It's a fact. Legislation and taxation and fuck all else.

Hang on, do you mean the governments haven't been finalising the bin schedule? No wonder no one knows when to leave the blue bin out.

It's the USA, they've got more weirdos and opinionated idiots than any other nation on earth. She's damned if she does and damned (because of Trump illegally using her songs at rallies) if she doesn't.

He's not a loon. He's clever.

Not admitting you've lost under any circumstances is a key part of the MAGA brand.

It's not what you say, it's how you make people feel. That's why JD Vance is vice president. Because he's actually smart, but he gives you the ick, and Trump wants an unpopular but well meaning idiot as his running mate.

Vance was almost certainly forced on to the ticket by Peter Thiel (co-founder of PayPal, first outside investor in Facebook, i.e.fully paid up lizard). Trump's been criticised by Vance in the past and I don't suppose for a minute that Vance would have been his genuine first choice.

He picked Mike Pence too. Trump hates his Vice Presidents. They're just there to be thrown under the bus and as a contrast to empahsise his own leading man quality

Clever in a "street smarts" kind of way. I suspect he's actually pretty limited from an IQ point of view.
