Big Andy

I've heard that too but it's a very odd thing to come out and say particularly like that without any kind of context.

The way he phrased it sounded like it was really recent and still a very touchy subject.

great decision by WHU (Bony > Carroll) is true ... Pity they couldn't just take Big Andy:

West Ham are on the brink of sealing a £14million deal for Ivory Coast powerhouse Wilfried Bony.

The Hammers are set to announce the capture of the Ivory Coast striker from Vitesse Arnhem this week after agreeing the move with the cash-strapped Dutch club.

Bony, 24, has been described as the new Didier Drogba because of his physical style and scoring prowess.

He has scored 26 goals for Vitesse this season – making him top scorer in the Eredivisie – and is expected to be named Holland’s Player of the Year.

Why would he go to West Ham?
He's not even going to wait till the summer to way up his options?
Very weird.

He wants to get in their while their memories of Carroll are fresh and as a result their expectations for a striker are at rock bottom, look at Borini, 1 goal all season would normally have fans calling for his head but the simple fact that hes not Andy Carroll means people are willing to be alot more tolerant. Good move on his part I say

No.

People are willing to give Borini time because he's been badly injured during his time here and he's young. Plus it's generally a decent thing to do.

The fact he's not Andy Carroll has nothing to do with it.

I'd rather keep him now...Providing he's accepting to be a 3rd choice striker, he could be very usefull in some games as he already proved it

He wouldn't even make the bench next season, unless there were injuries to six of our attacking players. When he would have been useful is earlier on this season when we had no attacking players to speak of. But what's done is done, all you can do about it now is to mutter things under your breath like fuck Carroll and fuck Rodgers, cunts, fucking cunts etc.

Wouldn't surprise me if Carroll's still a Liverpool next season.

Obviously not ideal for Club and Player. He clearly wants to go back to Newcastle but i'm not so sure they'll be in for him - not for big money anyway.

Might've featured on Chris Hughton's interest list. Probably put off by the wages and potentially high signing fee. Loan move to West Brom (with Steve Clarke there + Lukaku returning to Chelsea)?

To be honest I would rather have Andy than Borini, I think that lad has a lot to do to show he has got what it takes to be honest.
On the other hand Carroll , despite his many detractors, and what people will say, has shown, that when fit and given a chance, he can play a bit, and would also give us a different option.
I would rather keep him than give him away for the best part of fuck all.

regards

But would Rodgers use him? I'm not so sure.

I'd keep him next season instead of letting him go for pennies. We'd then have 4 strikers on the books, which is how the big teams roll.
And if he finds some form at some point and starts banging them in, his value will go up.
I guess that Brendan will say to get rid or loan him out again though, as he doesn't want him moping around and sitting on the bench. At the scum, wellbeck and hernandez take being on the bench on the chin, I can't see big 35mill andy being the same.

The problem with Carroll is that he's shit.

And everyone knows it.
Exactly. The guy is such a poor footballer. I've always thought if him as static, lazy with a poor first touch. But ive noticed it more this season as without him we look so dynamic and fluent. Carroll even looks shit in a crap west ham team. We'll get 8m for him in the summer if we're lucky.

He's on stupid wages. It's literally throwing cash away.

He's perfect for Stoke - please let them sign him as Owens replacement.

Yeah, because we already do so incredibly well against Stoke, that'll really make them our easiest opponent.

If we already do poorly against them (we do) then surely it's less of a concern to improve their chances against us? We'd probably only be zero points worse off, and in return get £10m or so and his contract off the books.

I think that's taking transfers far too tactically. You sell for the highest price possible, regardless of who offers it, end of, surely.

There might be a case for boxing a little clever if you're challenging for top honours and one of your competitors wants to buy a player from you. I just wish we were in a position for that to be relevant to us.

Except he isn't really a £35 mill.striker, besides which it's hard to see him fitting into the style we're learning to play.

It will take more than coaching to get Andy Carroll to perform.
Something like Tinkerbells pixie dust is more likely.

Imho he's actually gotten worse by going to West Ham, it hasnt helped him at all.
