Yup. Costa looks unfit and out of sorts and Xabi needs some bench.

They are at an end of an era but the way in which is going down is a lot worse than it could be. Too many management mistakes.

They can still do this if they start the 2nd half.............

.....................................Casillas.....................
Azpillecueta......Martinez.........Ramos......Alba
.................................Busquets.................
...Silva..........Fabregas........Koke........Iniesta
............................Pedro...............................

Blue Spanish eyes,
Teardrops are falling from your Spanish eyes,
Please please don't cry,
This is just adios and not good-bye....

Heh. Oh dear. Spain are out.

Casillas shouldn't have been playing.

Costa has been a disaster.

Alonso isn't up to standard at the moment and should've been benched.

One of the big problems they've been having is that the ball just doesn't stick up front. They miss David Villa or even Fabregas - they may not necessarily be able to run in behind but at least they can keep hold of the ball and possession is maintained, which for Spain is key. At the moment the constant turnovers are killing them as they can't establish any rythym.

No doubt everyone will be saying that tiki taka is dead, that Spain's players are done for but Del Bosque and co have to accept a big portion of the blame here.

He could've headed it about 40 yards clear or caught it like a normal person.

Alonso is not faring well

I take back about wanting Liverpool to sign Casillas if he was available, hes way way past his best, He was lucky not to cost Real the CL final, his luck has ran out now though, surely his last ever game for Spain.

The hyperbole here is astounding.

Spain need to incorporate more of their young players, not gut the entire system. They need more dynamic players, which they already have.

Can't blame Casillas too much on either goal, shit happens. His defenders and MF have been very mediocre.

It's a capitulation of a brilliant side.
Really sad to see too.
Aye they're punch drunk and needed new faces. In the betting thread I predicted the manager would drop Casillas, Alonso, Xavi and Costa but he only dropped Xavi and is paying the price.

That is just about the weirdest post I've ever read.

Casillas should take full blame for that punch, he would have been better off standing still and letting it hit him in the face.

No-one is saying Spain are finished are they though?, they obviously have a great next batch of players and need to start bedding some of them in for 2016, some of these players international careers are done though, De Gea for Casillas is a no brainer for a start.

Puyol's retirement has been the most single crushing blow to Spain.
His leadership and ability to actually fucking defend is missed beyond compare.
Koke coming on now.
