World Cup Games Day 7

Would expect a better Holland after the break once Van Gaal has got into them, the Aussies have done a great job though, fair play to them i thought they would be pure cannon fodder in this group.

Well I started off supporting the Netherlands but the Aussie heart & soul has swayed me here, they are giving it everything they've got whilst the NL are just strolling around like they think they are going to walk this, love to see the Aussies win this now. The goal of the tournament (so far) from Cahill really knocked some of the stuffing out of the NL.

Oh and 2 mins injury time ? WTF ? The injury alone at the end of the half was 3 mins at least ! Should have been 5-6 mins.

I don't think the Dutch are being "complacent" I just think they're not that good. They have 2 world class players in Robben and Van Persie who destroyed Spain because Spain WERE complacent anbd made some very slly mistakes. The Aussies are battling and showing that 9 of the Dutch team are very ordinary and if they can cut off the supply to Robben and Van P then the Dutch look beatable. That said I think the Dutch will win 2-1 because I think it's a tall order for the Aussies to cut off the supply to those two for another 45 minutes.

I think this a huge 30 minutes for Holland because I reckon Chile will beat them in the last match. If Holland draw here I can see the table finishing Chile 6 points, Spain 6 points, Holland 4 and Aussies 1.

Another cracking game, the Aussies a bit unlucky and the Dutch unconvincing but they should be through to the knockout stage now.

All hinged on that idiotic 'chest-on-goal' by Leckie (?). Go 3-2 there and they had a great chance of winning.

You have to hand it to Australia, they do remarkably well considering their supposed status in world football. This is a team with a very shallow squad but their first XI is very well organised.
That's because they are Australian. Having lived there for a few years you come to realise just how much sport is ingrained in their culture. Even my wife (who is an Aussie) is mad into sport and reckons from a very young age they are taught the Aussie way of being mega competitive. Sometimes that mentality goes a long way.

Can't believe Spain have left Alonso and Costa in the team, the shape is wriong and they're badly lacking energy again.

Never mind them.... I'm the poor bastard working all bloody night for all these games.

The pub's been open since Thursday morning & doesn't close till pretty much July.

I feel for you. You where probably sitting on a big pile of money while you typed that

Koke should really be starting ahead of Alonso.
Very weird looking at Spain without Xavi.
