Who is the best player in the Premier League now ?

After his display against arsenal i think we should leave vertonghen out of it. Anyway shouldnt be on current form rather than last season? Right now on current form (suarez hasn't played yet so we don't know how he's gonna be) you would have to say that sturridge and toure are the star players in the premiership and i'd also add ivanovic and yaya toure who have both been quality. Wiltshire has done fuck all to even be considered and neither has vidic. City's defence is all over the place currently so that would rule out zabaleta as well.

The thread is about who is the best player now Bale has gone though so I'm not sure the question is about current form, and everyone is naming Suarez who hasn't kicked a ball yet. But if it is about form then I agree with you on Sturridge, I said the same earlier in the thread. I just thought some more defensively minded players deserve a mention too.

Ivanovic doesn't get anywhere near enough credit, he's a great defender and good going forward as well.

Had Luis Suarez not been banned for the final few games of last season, the Uruguayan may well have topped this list. The accolade goes to Man United's Robin van Persie, who pips Suarez into number one, having scored 26 Premier League goals en route to winning the title. You can't really argue with that, can you? Feel free to, by commenting below!

I think that Vincent Company is as good a player as there is out there. Yaya too. Never get the pub. that the 'big three' do, but they are magnificent footballers.

Top 5 in the league in no particular order:

Suarez
Mata
Yaya
Kompany
Robin the rapist

Based on last seasons form it'd be Suarez

I don't care if he hasn't kicked a ball, it is Suarez. SG, who has played with a fe decent players, has said he is the BEST player he's ever shared a field with. The BEST. Does for me. When he comes back, we're going to open a can of whupass.

Mata, Suarez, Aguero are at the top for me. Luiz and Kompany are intriguing when they're on their game, RvP was very mediocre last match and drops down a bit for me. Yaya, Vertonghen, and Sturridge would be next on the list I think.

"[Lionel] Messi can do some amazing things, but anything he can do Joe can do as well, if not better. He used to shock us in training by doing footy tricks with a golf ball that most players can't even do with a football. I really fancy Joe for the [player of the year] award this season."

Touche, but difference is, we've also seen his maverick genius on a regular basis too.

*blows raspberry*

Yep Whilshere is a good player and perhaps knocking on the door of the second tier which includes Mata, Yaya, Kompany, Silva, Hazard etc.

RVP, Suarez, Aguero and Ozil are in a league of their own.

I really hope Ozil doesn't end up being as good for Arsenal as I suspect he might.

In a thread entitled "who's the best player in the premier league", the mere mention of Wilshire's name is fucking lunacy. Ok, it's nice to see that people don't want to leave defenders out. But when the likes of Kompany, Ivanovich and even Vidic exist, Wilshire isn't even coming close.

Suarez is a better footballer than Van Persie Ryan.
Not a doubt.

Indeed. Red tinted glasses or not, he just is. RVP might have scored more goals last season, but that's all he does. He's not fit to lace Suarez's boots when it comes to creativity. Suarez is easily a much better all-rounder.

The top three is Mata, RVP and Mata.

Below that, Hazard, Santi, Coutinho, Aguero, Sturridge.
