No. Before Carra's injury last season then Skrtel grabbed the opportunity to form one of the best pairs CB in the league with Agger, "people" still kept claiming that carra was our best defender and our defense would be shit without his organization skills.

Of course it's just a small part of revisionism, just like now "people" claim that they never wanted Carroll or Downing. Or top 4 was always out of reach last season.

Quite. People are hapless aren't they? I know he made the mistake early doors but it's early days for us this season too, mistakes happen all over (look at the missed opportunities, misplaced passes throughout the side), he had a good solid game and got better as the game wore on. He might not be what he was, hardly surprising given his age and the amount of football he played, but he's still capable of filling a gap for us in lesser games this season.

Why's it always the same posters posting the same needless drivel and waiting to pounce on players like Carra at every opportunity? Congratulations, you can get the boot in and tell us all how right you've always been, now that he's 34 and on the wane.

People forget that when Sami was ageing he used to make mistakes too, in hindsight though most acknowledge we could have done with him for an extra season as cover and experience.

Oh and, shut the fuck up Modo.

I'v never advocated the slating of Carragher I just feel like its time he wasn't an auto starter as the performances he used to give are rare now. He is a legend and always will be.

Well done Mark, it is easy to let these situations lead to some lack of respect for players who have earned much better.
Carra is a realist and knows that he would not be getting a game if our first choices were available.
Likewise he must know himself that its near enough time to call it a day and get himself a job in the backroom, he still needs to be around.
I don't think it was entirely wrong to play him last year.
However younger players do need games ahead of him now, and we do need to grasp that nettle.

You've gotta do it from the right angle.

It's the soft hairs that sting. If when grasping the leaves you push down onto the leaves so the hairs are pushed down you barely get stung at all.

We had a big garden when I was a kid & had a herb garden inc a barrel for nettles to make nettle tea.
