I'd agree. We (as prior to stugs) never had anyone in the box again last night. If Studge would have played we'd have won like 8-0.
Everyone chill out.
Yeah. I didn't mean it like that. Downing has been one of our best players lately.Nealmac now you're being harsh on downing.
Downing deserves his starting place as he's been good recently. Your original comment was less than damming indictment of shelvey, and more a "well duh" comment.
Besides the fact shelvey isn't a winger is neither here nor there
Fair enough, he probably hasn't played enough for people to make a fair judgement as to how good or bad of a footballer he is. But in the little bit of game time he's had this season, he's been appalling.
At present, I much rather seeing Downing in the team than Shelvey. Kinda says it all really.
Borini has not shown anything as yet to show why he is ever in the team. I'd sell him off in the summer, unless he actually scores some goals, or shows something as to why we spent 10m on him.
Sterling has had a lot more game time, but only because he deserved it. He's gone off the boil now though. But Sterling's "cameos" in the early stages were a lot more promising than anything Shelvey has showed. That's not altogether true. Shelvey was showing promise at the beginning of the season, then his form deserted him, and since then he's been used sparingly, and in unfamiliar roles. Ideally, youngsters would be allowed to find their feet in cameos, and in situations where there isn't undue pressure on them to perform. That hasn't been the case for Shelvey and Sterling, and I think both have suffered for it.
I don't think you can say only one player played well, then call it "just one of those nights"
We weren't good enough.
A load of players played well.
First Aston Villa now WBA..
Rodgers needs a Plan B against these sides...
In fact he needs a Plan B against most sides..
9 wins in the league so far this season... just aint good enough.
What is our record low points total in the Premier League ????

Suarez was hardly shite mate? Johnson?Don't agree mate.
Downing, Gerrard did ok as did Henderson. Can't really have a pop at Carragher either. The rest were fucking shite.
Johnson was diabolical and had one of his worst performances for us dreamySuarez was hardly shite mate? Johnson?
Johnson was diabolical and had one of his worst performances for us dreamy
And suarez was largely ineffective. His magical touch deserted him on occasion
Suarez was hardly shite mate? Johnson?
I think that's pretty spot on.Mate you have to be kidding me. Suarez has been poor for a month now (he's allowed off days after him carrying us before anyone starts) and That was the worst performance of GJs season. And he's my favourite player btw so I'm also biased.
He was fucking awful as was Enrique.
Downing, and at a push Henderson and Gerrard played ok.
I thought we were very poor overall.
I think that's pretty spot on.
For what it's worth and that's to Rodgers credit (at least some of it are) it's been a while we've looked this pedestrian. Far far far to many pedestrian Liverpool performances at Anfield over the past Seasons and this was like being brought back to one of those dire nights.
. The issue of our inconsistensy lies deep and we need to adress it.
Borini definitely needs some mental coaching. He definitely has something good going on, but it's just not getting out.Therein lies the crux of the matter. Why are we so mentally fragile? Thankfully, Rodgers and the shrink have worked (relative) wonders with downing and hendo. Ideally he'll move to borini and Agger next
