Neville and Carra picked the team of the year on Mnf.
Skrtel didn't even get a mention again.
Silva or Lallana didn't make it either.
I don't think skrtel deserves a mention in that discussion. I've nothing but respect for how his professionalism and effort, and he's set himself apart as our best cb especially in recent games, but if we win the title it will be despite our defense, and being the best of the worst CB selection we've had for ages doesn't put him in that conversation.

Skrtel has has an excellent season overall but i still think he's lacking that composure needed to be considered a top class centre back . He's blood and guts , last ditch tackles and body on the line stuff . Everyone loves that but the best don't need to play like that , they just read the game , boss and control the opposition striker . Baresi , maldini , cannavaro ..all about composure .

You're spouting shite. Skrtel's improved massively on the ball this season. Regularly bringing the ball out of defence with ease.

You've lost me . Are you being very witty and ironic , perhaps having a dig at other poster's arguments in the Agger V Skrtel debate, or are you being serious ?

If serious then i think you've jumped to conclusions and seen what you wanted to see in my post . Where was i talking about bringing the ball out of defence ? . I was talking about things like staying on your feet , knowing when to go , when to stay ,leading your defence , positioning etc etc etc .

Burnley promoted to the Premier League. By the looks of things, Derby and QPR have booked spots in the promotion playoffs, while Wigan should be in them as well barring a collapse in their last 3 games. One of Brighton / Forest / Ipswich / Reading / Blackburn / Bournemouth will take the last spot in the playoffs.

And speaking of Burnley, I just looked at their top scorers.

2012-2013: Sam Vokes 4 goals, 1 assist (13 starts, 33 subs), Danny Ings 3 goals, 1 assist (15 starts, 17 subs)
2013-2014: Sam Vokes 20 goals, 3 assists (39 starts), Danny Ings 20 goals, 6 assists (38 starts)

Wow. Massive improvement by the pair.

Picking two center backs with the best clean sheet record was a wee bit lazy.
Chelsea are set up in a way where keeping a clean sheet is their first priority.
I'd have Skrtel in there instead of Terry.

Ings was injured most of last season and even when fit he was a relative unknown, and Charlie Austin was scoring every week for them anyway.

A small bit harsh imo.
He's been consistently good for the past 9 months and is the top scoring defender in the league.
It's a very good team but some of it stinks of patriotism.

Well, tbf Mourinho is a stinking miserable negative fucker so to be his first choice CB proves a certain defensive quality.

Chelsea is the only team to have conceded less goals than Suarez has scored too.
