So, realistically (ha!) what kind of scoreline do we need vs Newcastle?

8-0 and perhaps 4-0 versus Palace would give us a slim chance.
Realistically, the best we can hope for is for City to falter under pressure on final day, and end up conceding a stupid equaliser or something. We just have to hope West Ham give them a game.

Goal difference isn't happening in a million years.

@MarkmaccaMc: We can't blame Everton by the way..We can't blame anyone..We just ran out of gas..And that is the simple explanation!

I'm hoping for 6-0 against Palace, and whatever we need after City play Villa. We need 3 goals in each half against Palace; very tough but not impossible. Storm them from the start and hope we get some luck and friendly referee whistles. Then storm them again after the break, and hope for the same.

I think all remaining hope now lies with a shadey Asian betting syndicate paying Palace to leak goals against us.

Anybody know of any?

Not out of the realms of possibility against a Palace team seemingly halfway to their hols, here's hoping.

Yeah I know, I was just trying to sort out in my mind exactly what forlorn hope it is I'm clinging to.

That's more ridiculous than hoping for villa or west Ham to take points off city.

This is a pulis managed Palace side.

We've beaten a good few teams above Palace by 4 and 5 goals. Its unlikely we will, but its not impossible, but would rather the Newcastle game were first.

If we blitz them early on we could easily score 5.

so bristol rovers fans kicked off after they were relegated from the football league for the first time since 1920 .

fair enough but is this the best attire to wear when running away from a police horse ?

Yeah, but we have a post injury Sturridge, a knackered Suarez & no Henderson to press high up the pitch, most of our players are running on fumes.

Just winning will be an effort I reckon. Hope I'm wrong like, but don't think I am.

The goal difference scenario is not gonna play out.

We just need to win on monday and hope Villa or WH cause an upset.

I'm not sure when he decided what to wear he thought "I best dress in the most appropriate clobber to be chased by a police horse in, you know, just in case"

Let's keep positive nothing is impossible anything can happen keep the faith we should believe till the very end YNWA

yeah let's bring this to the last weekend at the very least . They'll be nervous , they didn't exactly win it easily at home last time , you never know .

City still has to win two games and so do we. Of course they're in the driver seat now but who knows what will happen.

fucking ridiculous italian football ...hamsik over to talk to some capo wanker to calm things down . not working .

insane hamsik has to do that , he's still over there surrounded by numpties . Surprised benitez allowing it but this is italy .

on a side note , only two italian players starting the cup final , one per side . Strange considering how big italian football and the national team are , well maybe were. Guess it's the modern game .

This season has proved exactly that, anything can happen.

I've resigned myself in thinking City are gonna win it. Anything else will be a pleasent surprise.
Win our next two games and see where we end up.

A win against Palace will at least make it a thrilling last game of the season next sunday. Who would have though that last May?

I have had visions of us waiting, having beaten Newcastle convincingly for the West Ham game to finish, City leading 2-1, & Carroll scoring header from a corner in the last minute to equalise whilst we watch in the harry, for ages, even when we were top of the league.

That would be insane.
