Didn't realise there were two threads, cheers Mystic.

Froggy if you really want to keep Modo on ignore I'll have to think of another solution, possibly reauthor match threads or something, it'll be a PITA though.

Alternatively, if they're using Firefox / Chrome, they can use Adblock Plus custom filters to partially-ignore someone. Using this method, they'll be able to see threads started by the ignored person, and all subsequent replies by others. However, they won't see the contents posted by the blacklisted person, while quotes of that person's post show up empty as well.

For example, if you wish to partially-ignore Modo, just use this pair of custom filters with Adblock Plus (tested with both FF and Chrome versions):
sixcrazyminutes.com##[data-author="Modo"] BLOCKQUOTE
sixcrazyminutes.com##[data-author="Modo"] .messageText

You'll still see Huey's face though. Just imagine you've got Modo's ugly mug on mute. No offence, Modo, you little shit stirrer! 😀

Training sessions and one practice match is great but starting a Premier League game is a different level altogether.

Well you have to get in the team at some stage. Same for 1st game of season after pre season too.

Having two threads for this is ridiculous, Froggy my friend, unblock Modo, he's harmless these days, mods, merge this.

OK my friends. I've unblocked Modo .... until he goes on another one of those 5 page ceaseless arguments (been there, done that .. but at least for me it's only with Peter) !

STAT: Steven Gerrard has scored more goals against Villa (13) than any other side. 12 of them have been in the league

STAT: #LFC have won 79 points against Aston Villa in the Premier League – more than any other team.

Yeah we used to crush Villa.
Dunno what's going on now.
I kinda agree with Ryan, I'd feel safer with Lucas on the pitch.

I really hope we don't go gun ho and get caught on the break early like we have in the last 2 home games against them.

Posted last night:

Team for tomorrow: Mignolet, Manquillo, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic, Balotelli *.

*Lambert to start if Balotelli doesnt recover from illness.

Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren will line up at the heart of Liverpool's defence for the second time when Aston Villa make the trip to Anfield today, with the pair sharing more than just a defensive understanding.

The duo kept a clean sheet in their first outing together at Tottenham Hotspur, with the partnership aided by the Croatian's ability to speak in Sakho's native language.
"It went well, we understood each other and I had the luck that he speaks some French as this helped me too," the former Paris Saint-Germain centre-back told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It is important for us to try not to concede any goals and to remain defensively solid, but it isn't only a defensive job, it's a whole team effort and I hope we continue to do our best to score many goals while stopping as many as possible."

Sakho and Lovren will need to be alert to thwart a Villa side that have started the season well.
"I think they will arrive with self-belief and try to get stuck into us, and we need to be ready and face up to them," the France international said of Saturday's opponents. "We must remain confident and believe in our game. We must be sure of our quality and strength, and let's not forget that we're at home too, with our marvellous support, and that's something to take into account. "We also need to remain focused as it will be an important match."

Sakho is excited to return to Anfield following two tricky away trips as well as the international break.
Meanwhile, Mario Balotelli, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Alberto Moreno are in line to make their home bows, with the defender eager to express what a wonderful occasion it will be for them. He explained: "They will feel as I did the first time. I think it's something great to play at Anfield and to proudly wear the shirt.
"They already understand what it means to play for Liverpool, but the feeling will be even greater when they play at Anfield and experience the fantastic support."

Just our record against Villa at Anfield mate...1 win in 5 if I'm right.

Also Sturridge being out, after International break factor etc.

Happily take a scrappy 1-0. Come on Redmen!!!

RODGERS MUST COPE WITHOUT SAS

Liverpool will line up against Aston Villa on Saturday evening without at least one of Luis Suarez (departed) and Daniel Sturridge (injured) for the first time since December 2012 when they won at West Ham, with the likes of Joe Cole and Jonjo Shelvey scoring for the Reds.

Brendan Rodgers can now rely on a much stronger squad, restocked for Champions League football, and yet can name a team full of youthful vigour too; Liverpool’s starting XI at Tottenham last time out was their youngest in the Premier League for more than 10 years.

They’ll still have to be wary of a Villa side who have recently developed into a decent outfit at Anfield, though. Unbeaten there in three trips after losing six of the previous eight, Paul Lambert will gladly frustrate a team who won 16 of their 19 home games in 2013-14 but only just saw off Southampton there on the opening weekend.
