Gerrard played with a problem with his heel, needed an injection. Luis was according to Rodgers shattered from traveling when he returned. No evidence of that today, impressive.
Made up for Hendo aswell. Playing with confidence and took his goal really well. Big difference from his one on ones earlier in the season.

Henderson is one of the players of the Season for me. He looks like a very different player than to last Season.
Some of the energy that's on display from him is Gerrard-esque at times. I bet ol' Steve has had some influence on him.
For me he's the only central midfielder that has earned his spot next Season along Gerrard.

LFC have taken 46 points from their last 26 league games = top four form for 2/3 of a season. Progress.
Don't worry about it. It was a bullshit statistic anyway.
Ratings:
Reina 7 - Could do nothing to stop the goal. Didn't have to make any big saves, except for that cross that almost went in. Glad he's back.
Johnson 6 - Improved in the 2nd half but was crap in the first. Should have blocked Benteke's shot. He does find Suarez in the box though and helped us get a penalty.
Carra 7 - Did well.
Agger 8 - Very good performance.
Enrique 6 - Can't complain about his defensive work. Sluggish in attack. Too many miss-placed passes.
Lucas 5 - Not impressed at all by him today. Got overrun in midfield.
Henderson 7 - Nice well placed chip for the goal. Worked his socks off and helped us keep possession of the ball.
Gerrard 8 - Captains performance.
Coutinho 8 - What a great little player we have in our hands. Creative, technical, dribbler, passer. He just oozes class. Great assist. Should have got a goal as well.
Downing 5 - Did fuck all. Seriously though, looking at his performance objectively, he didn't offer us anything in attack today.
Suarez 7 - Helped us win, should have got a goal. Too many missed chances.

Modo - you are probably not the right person to rate Downing's performances - it's like Lex Luthor giving a rating for Superman. I mean imagine - what you would give him if say he did play well BUT missed 2 SITTERS like Luis did ? - you would maybe consider sending him hate mail ? - the possibilities are endless I guess.
His crossing was poor as well. I just don't think he did well today overall.
I've admitted that he's done well before but today it was back to good old Downing.
It's not like I have a Downing poster with darts sticking out of it on my wall.
Calling him a cunt doesn't make sense, I mean it's not his fault that he joined but I need to blame someone and calling him a cunt or being overly harsh about his performances is just my way to cope with him being a Liverpool player. Something he never should have been in the first place, especially for world class player money.
Modo your 7 for Luis is a bit low. If only we had eleven players every match , and I mean every match, to give us the effort, performance and complete will to win, in every match he plays. I thought his efforts today, after a 5000 miles trip home from international duty , was excellent.
That is where I disagree with most of the people here - I think 'WORLD CLASS' player money is not £20M - I think world class player money is actually at the £27M level. Like it or not that was the minimum we were going to pay for an English player established in the PL who has been very good over many years for the teams he has played for. What irks me about all this criticism about him is that no one here seems to remember the useless strikers - or those strikers we have who just could not put the ball behind the net despite Stewart having good games and trying his very best to assist. ALL our strikers were utter shit last year - Suarez needed at least 7 chances before he put the ball in the back of the net. When you join a club like LFC you expect certain things - maybe he did not realize that the team he joined were just sh*t in every way.
Had to think long and hard for that one. I can't judge Suarez on his performance based on how a striker should perform, because in that case his effort and his way of harrassing defenders would lead to me giving him at least a "9" in every game he plays.
What I tried to do, and bare with me here, is to judge Suarez based on his own standards and sadly he just wasn't as good as he can be.
Had he scored today, he would probably have been in my top three today with Gerrard, Coutinho and Agger.
Then what is Coutinho doing that Stewie isn't doing?
