Poor first half but a good 2nd. The players looked like they wanted to win and in the end a great result.
3 much needed points and still possible to finish 5th/6th.

While I felt we needed another goal, I was quite satisfied with the way we closed out the game in the final 15 minutes. Slowed it down, didn't try to go all guns blazing and opening ourselves to the counter, and didn't make over-ambitious passes that got us in trouble. There was a spell in the 74th minute mark or so when we just let Villa keep the ball but pressed and cut off the passing lanes, and they had to keep moving the ball side to side around midfield and then backwards. Still a bit of frantic defending against balls into the box in that spell but we looked quite comfortable and capable of closing the game out.

Didn't watch the first half; impressed with Coutinho again, and Henderson's finish was sublime.

Also, am I right to say this is the first league game this season which we've come back to win from a goal down?

I think the team has learned some lessons from the painful failures of the past. We successfully made adjustments twice in this game without drastically changing the tactical shape or substitutions: first after Benteke's goal we put Villa under pressure immediately and never relinquished it until our 2nd goal. And then we successfully took the sting out of the game and more or less nullified the Villa threat other than a couple of episodes. It's a grown up victory.

Villa is a poor team, but they very fighting for survival here. An away game like this at this stage of the season is rarely easy.
