Torres coming or going?

Anyone who wants Torres back for anything more than free is a little mental. He's worth about 15m, but we'd be best off concentrating on new talent.

I think that's going too far, Gerry. While I agree we need to be forward-looking overall (and incidentally I think FSG will ensure that that happens) we also need to be challenging at least for top four meanwhile. Place the main emphasis on young talent by all means, but not (IMO at any rate)exclusively so, otherwise that young talent will have too much to do too soon. We've already had a taste with Raheem of the dangers of overusing such talent at too early a stage in their careers.

I don't mean in reference to Torres per se, but in regards to older players, we need a bit of experience, we have a very young team now, & at times Carra & Stevie were marshaling a lot of them.

With no Carragher at the back we could do with someone else fulfilling a similar role.

I don't disagree, but I think a broken, overvalued player would not be the player to add for experience. I didn't suggest going for all youth anyway, just think it's best not to go back, especially in Torres' case. Torres is broken, we did a great move selling him when we did, lets not ruin that by buying him back.
